Ben helped Gary
support his mum
Gary works in the industry and had
been struggling after his father left the
family home, leaving behind debt and
unpaid bills. Gary was desperately trying
to maintain the house and help his mum
pay the bills. His 40-mile commute to
work was also costing a lot in petrol and
the commute time was eating into the
time he could spend at home.
Ben provided Gary with
information, advice and guidance
and the organisation’s Support
Services team encouraged him
to speak to his manager about
changing the location of his current
role. Gary’s manager agreed to him
moving to his local store, which
meant he no longer had to travel
80 miles a day which gave him the
opportunity to spend two hours
more at home with his mum.
Ben supported Gary through this
difficult transition so that he was
able to work in his local area and
better support his mum.
