Another Day
O the bliss of a newborn day
And the freshness of morning’s dew
When life reaches its highest peak
With such a God-given view.
Life is a beautiful gift from God
Then what more can we say
Except, thanks to the living God
For the light of another day.

Once again it is time for TABS (TeenAge Bible
Study) to start. Our theme for this season is “Thinking Outside the Box.” Grundy Street (Tullahoma) will
host the first session this Sunday, August 24th. We will
need to leave at 5:15 pm. The topic will be “Life: It’s
Not A Game!”
Please remember that BIRTHDAY WEDNESDAY will be Wednesday, August 27th.
Paul and Kara Hurst will be hosting a SCAVENGER

One of the great events on the BBYG calendar is just
around the corner. The 17th Annual LABOR
DAY YOUTH MADNESS: COUNTDOWN
TO MIDNITE! will take place on Sunday, August
31st. When you have an event that is older than most
of the participants, then it must be successful! IF you
plan on attending and bringing guests, you must be
signed-up by Sunday morning, August 31st. This is a
great opportunity to invite friends and introduce
them to the youth group. Full details are on the Youth
Bulletin board.

Dear Brothers and sisters,
Greeting in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who have put us into his ministry. I am writing to thanks
you for the support I am receiving from you every month. This has supported me tremendously in my
preaching at Katoka. Thank you for the love and care for me and my family. Most of all thank you for Jesus
in bring us into One body where we enjoy the sweet fellowship as these.
There are forty six member now and I requesting for your prayer for more soul to be added to the
church. Also for us to be strong in the Lord. I will remember you in my prayers so that God will preserve
us for the home in heaven.
God Bless you all,
Your Brother in Christ
Archer Moses
The church here sends $200 per month through the Summerdale church of Christ to support brother Moses.
Longest Speech, Shortest Term
Also, RUSH at Freed Hardeman is the weekend of
September 12th. Details for this trip are up, so check
it out and sign-up.
The shortest inaugural address was George Washington’s second, in 1793, and it was comprised of 193
words! William Henry Harrison, though raised a cultured, educated man, campaigned on a folksy ticket
symbolized by the log cabin. To set a different, more
cultured tone for his presidency, Harrison decided to
give a lengthy, erudite speech on a bitterly cold, early
March day in 1841. He spoke for nearly two hours,
doing so without benefit of a topcoat or hat. Historians are generally agreed that Harrison’s motivation
was to show himself not be a country bumpkin or
simpleton. While it is unclear if his exposure led to the
pneumonia that killed him exactly a month later, it still
boils down to a lot of talk and very little execution.

9/9 Tuesday Youth Sing @ the Fair
How often do we, as congregations, spend a seemingly
endless amount of time outlining, discussing, and rehashing grand plans? Goals and planning are vital to a
church’s existence, but so often much talk produces
little action. In any congregation’s mind, they are going
to be a fast-growing, active, moving, and shaking bunch.
Yet, so few churches are that. We spend our time laying
out the plan and give ourselves so little time to do it.
We do that in our individual lives, too. We make big
plans for tomorrow (cf. Jas. 4:13-15). Like the poet
expressed it, “He was going to be all that man should
be. . . tomorrow; no one would be kinder or braver
than he. . . tomorrow.” Yet, the poet depicts the
dreamer as one who died today while hoping for tomorrow. Are we making grand, long-winded speeches
about all we are going to do? Are we spending so much
time outlining it that we have so little time left to execute it?
Thinking of all you know about William Henry Harrison compared to George Washington. Both were
thinkers and planners, but oh the difference in how we
remember each of them. Think, then do!
