Fall Clean up E-Recycling Appliance Collection The landfill will be open for clean up weeks on the following Saturdays: October 1st, 8th, & 15th from 10am to 5pm. We will be collecting unwanted electronics at the Scout Hall on Saturday, Oct 1st, 2016 from 10am to 4pm and again on Wednesday, October 5th from 4pm to 7pm Do you have old appliances taking up space? ONLY the following items will be accepted: Clean wood Leaves Tree trimmings Grass clippings Garden refuse For more information a copy of our bylaw #2016-06 can be viewed in office or on-line @ www.townofshellbrook.net Leaves/Grass Clipping Pickup Days Leaves and grass clippings placed in approved bio-degradable or compostable bags will be picked up every Tuesday until the snow falls, weatherdependent. Bags are available at the town office for $1.00/bag plus GST. Branches MUST be bundled in 3 foot lengths and tied with biodegradable string. Please ensure that you can wrap your arms around the bundle.Anything left unbundled or not in biodegradable bags will not be picked up and subject to a fine as per bylaw 2016-06 Piles of rotting leaves and grass attract skunks and rats; please help keep Shellbrook free of these pests! For more information as to what can be dropped off call the office or visit www.recyclemyelectronics.ca/sk We will remove them from your yard at a cost of $50/appliance plus GST. All collection arrangements must be made through the office, payment is also required prior to pick-up. up. Appliances will not be removed from any home or garage. Garbage & Recycle Bins Set out the recycle or garbage g bins by 6:30 am on Fridays to ensure pick up. Pleaseremove the bins promptlyafter pickup as they interfere with street cleaning and snow removal. Contractors If you hire contractors c & businesses from outside the town, town they are required to have a business license to work within town limits. This includes plumbers, builders, electricians, heating, etc. Licenses are purchased at the Town Office. Water Meter Reading Meters will be read in early October. They are read quarterly (January, April, July & October). Meter readings can be submitted to the office monthly by the 15th of the month. Submitting monthly meter reads wouldeliminate the surprise of a larger quarterly bill. Pet Licenses All dogs and cats require pet licenses and tags and must not be left wand wandering about in town. Cats picked up will attract the same penalty as dogs. 2016 tags and licenses are available at the town office. Cats Cats (just just like dogs) are not allowed to wander freely in town. Please ensure that they are kept within your property property. Stiff penalties exist for cats picked up. Please refrain from feeding stray cats as that will assume ownership. A better place to GROW!
