SUMMARY:
Award of contract to Downtown Ford Sales for the purchase of fourteer Ford Crown Victoria
police interceptor sedans to support Port Police operations and more t fectively secure Port

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Harbor Commissioners award Cont

DISCUSSION:

ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT:
The proposed project is the award of a contract to purchase fourteen new and replacement police
interceptor sedans for the Port Police Division. Four of the sedans will replace existing older
police sedans and ten police sedans will provide additional support for the police patrol of Port
property. As such, the director of the Environmental Management ~ i v i s i b nhas determined that
the proposed activity is exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) in accordance with Article 11, Section 2(f) and Article 111 1 (82) of the Los Angeles
City CEQA Guidelines.

FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Approval of this Board item would commit the Port to expend
the fourteen police
interceptor sedans described herein. Under the Port's Vehicle
Program, four of
these police sedans will replace existing like vehicles

Division. The four replaced police sedans have an estimated total market alue of $1 1,835. They
will be salvaged and auctioned by the City Department of General Service and the proceeds will
be credited to the Harbor Revenue Fund. This transaction will also b shown in the Port's
balance sheet as a decrease in assets by the total depreciated book va ue of the four police
sedans.
