Spring is just around the corner and we’re inviting YOU to join us for all the good stuff that comes with it. Baby goats and chickens, new programs including beekeeping and composting, and green stuff sprouting up everywhere! For our staff and trustees, the driving force behind all the new and wonderful things we have going on is our Kids Programs- and Camp Wetu is one of our favorites! Our Spring session of Camp Wetu will run from Monday, April 18th thru Friday, April 22nd 2016 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with an extended day option available (3 pm-5 pm). It’s a perfect fit for kids ages 6-12. Fun games, crafts, indoor and outdoor play, and learning including lots of face time with our Barnyard animals, experiments and brainstorming on new ideas and ways to do things, and doing our part to plant and grow food and community here at the Farm. Our Camp Wetu team will be led by Director Frank Campo. All Farm staff are CPR and First Aid Certified and are required to complete a national Criminal Background Check. Our registration fee is $150 per child, with Mount Hope Farm members receiving a discounted rate of $125. We are pleased to offer an extended day option for working families; the price of an extended day for the week is $25. SPACE IS LIMITED so register early! Registration deadline is April 12th. Parents will be notified in advance as to the daily drop-off and pickup location. The day ends at 3PM with an option for an extended stay from 3PM-5:00PM. Clothing: Campers should be dressed in comfortable clothes to engage in activity; all clothing should be suitable for indoor and outdoor use. We recommend bringing an extra set of clothes as well as anything that is appropriate for the day’s weather. Reusable Water Bottle: Hydration is important- this is invaluable camper “gear”! A reusable bottle, labelled with your child’s name, not only keeps them hydrated, but also encourages your child to re-use and re-cycle, something we all work hard to do at the Farm! Lunch: Campers are required to bring a brown bag lunch each day. An afternoon snack will be provided. Refrigerators are available. Our days are activity driven so please remember that Food is Fuel; healthy lunches and snacks that are ready to go will feed your child’s body and keep their mind sharp! Spring Protection: Many of our activities will take place outdoors. Please ensure your child’s safety and comfort. We suggest a minimum of sun screen, hats, gloves, rain gear, and boots. Backpack: A backpack or tote, labelled with your child’s name, will assist in keeping your child’s gear organized and handy. Please leave valuable items or those of personal value at home. Cell phones, IPhone, laptops, etc., brought with your child will be stored with your child’s belongings until the end of each day’s session. Mount Hope Farm is not responsible for any loss or damage.
