Eleven Mayes County wrestlers quality for State
Brooner, Bowline Regional champs
Smith leads Pryor’s
swim Tigers at State
Pryor's Alex Smith placed fourth in
the 100-meter butterfly at the Class
5A State Swim Meet to lead the Tigers
and Tigerettes who placed 12th and
18th, respectively, as teams.
Smith, who completed the 100meter butterfly in 59.4 seconds, also
placed sixth in the 50-meter freestyle
(23.5 seconds), and the Tigers' 200meter freestyle relay team placed
seventh at 1:39.3.
Michael Rial, Cory Ramsey and
Ryan Pettus joined Smith on the 200meter freestyle relay team.
Pryor's Austen Brooner and Locust
Grove's Aaron Bowline won Regional
wrestling championships last Saturday in
Class 5A and Class 4A tournaments,
respectively, and advance to the State
Tournament Friday and Saturday along
with nine other Mayes County Regional
placers.
