Main Street School Field Trip Chaperone Guidelines Thank you for volunteering to chaperone a field trip at Main Street School. We appreciate your help, as we wouldn’t be able to go on our academic field trips without your help. Below are some guidelines we would like every chaperone to follow when volunteering. If you have any questions or need clarification, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher. • Once you’ve agreed to chaperone, please keep your commitment (unless you have an emergency), so the field trip isn’t cancelled. • Be on time. • Do not buy food and souvenirs for students. • Follow the guidelines given by teachers. • Cell phone use is restricted to emergencies. • Plan ahead, so you don’t have to stop going to and from the destination. • Please don’t chat during presentations. We want to set a positive example for our students. • Interacting with students is a priority. Please be “present” while chaperoning. • Drivers must return with the same students in the car. • Return permission slips to the teacher at the end of the trip. • Please accept who has been assigned to your car, and don’t negotiate changing passengers. • All field trips are tobacco and alcohol free. • No siblings are allowed to attend when you are chaperoning a field trip.
