Year 4: The Rainforest - Kingsleigh Primary School

Year 4: The Rainforest
During this topic the children will learn about the Rainforest.
As Geographers, the children
will be learning about the areas
and climates of rainforests
throughout the world. In
particular, they will focus on
South America and the human
and physical features of Brazil.
In RE, the children will be focusing on
Christianity and the Easter story. They will
consider how Christians believe that Jesus’
life, death and resurrection teaches about
forgiveness.
Home Learning:
As independent learners, we would like the
children to create a rainforest poster, to
display in class. It will need to include
producers (plants found in the rainforest)
and consumers (animals found in the
rainforest). Please encourage your child to
use a range of media to create their designs
(e.g. paint, collage). In order to be displayed
alongside the topic, please complete by
Friday 18th March 2016.
As Scientists, the children will
be learning about food chains.
They will identify producers,
predators, and prey and they
will link this to consumers.
As Artists, the children will be
using a range of media to create
artwork based on the theme of
rainforest creatures.
