This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 803 of 31st July 2011. 2. The Government of Kenya has received a Credit from International Development Association (IDA) for the Kenya Primary Education Development (PRIEDE) Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Credit to payments under this contract, Contract No. MOE/GPE/GDS/04/2016-2017 for Supply and Delivery of ICT Equipments and Furniture 3. The Ministry of Education -State Department of Basic Education now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Supply and Delivery of Office Equipment & Furniture as detailed below:LOT ITEM DESCRIPTION QTY NO. 1 1. Ups for Server 1 OFFICE FURNITURE 2 Workstations 47 Delivery will be done in the Ministry Headquarters. More details on the required specifications are contained in the bidding documents. 4. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, January 2011, Revised July 2014 and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines. 5. Bidders have the option to bid for one or more Lots but must bid for all items in a Lot. Bids quoting for incomplete items in a Lot will be considered non-responsive and rejected. Bids shall be evaluated on a Lot-by-Lot basis and the lowest evaluated bidder for each Lot will be awarded the contract for the Lot. 6. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Education State Department of Basic Education and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 0900 to 1700 hours, Monday to Friday excluding public holidays and weekends. 7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee Kenya Shillings 2,000 or in any other freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be Bankers Cheque in favor of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of EducationState Department of Basic Education or cash paid at cash office located at 7th Floor room 730. The Bidding Documents will be collected from Ground Floor room 023 upon production of a purchase receipt. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 1100 hours EAT on 30th November, 2016. The packages should be clearly marked “Supply and Delivery of Office Equipment and Furniture, Contract No. MOE/GPE/GDS/04/2016-2017” and placed in the Tender Box located at Jogoo House B, Ground Floor, Reception. Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 1130 hours EAT on 30th November 2016 9. All bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security of 2% of the Bid Amount for each lot in the currency of the unconditional on demand guarantee issued by a bank or irrevocable letter of credit. or equivalent amount in freely convertible currency. 10.
