Introduction
In this slideshow you will learn more about the Boston
Massacre, Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride, and more. This
slideshow teaches you things you may not know about
American history, like you might have not known that Paul
Revere had 13 children! For people who know nothing about
the American Revolution by the time you finish this slideshow
you will be an expert on the Boston Massacre, and Paul Revere.
The Boston Massacre
Did you know that the Boston Massacre was caused by a
kid? His name was Edward Garrick the wig makers assistant. It
was caused because he thought a soldier John Goldfinch didn’t
pay his master although Goldfinch did actually pay. So Edward
started to harass the soldier with insults. Another soldier Hugh
White overheard and started defending Goldfinch said “ he’s a
gentlemen” Edward replied saying “There’s no gentlemen in that
regiment!” That made White so mad. White said “ let me see
your face” White hit Edward square in the face with the butt of
his gun.As the boy was wailing on the ground his friend
Bartholomew came and started to yell at the soldier. Eventually
a mob gathered at that spot and the first shots were fired. That
day 5 American Patriots died and they were some of the first
people to die for the United States.
The Boston Massacre was also caused by all the skirmishes
between British troops and Patriots. The skirmishes were
caused by all the taxes The British first taxed sugar and colonists
got angry! Now we know that the british was only trying to get
money because of the war (The French And Indian War). After
that the colonists still thought that Great Britain was just greedy
because now they had to buy everything from great britain and
sell everything to Great Britain. That was called the Stamp Act.
The Patriots became unruly because they didn’t know Great
Britan cause. It was all a big misunderstanding. That means that
USA was made because of a misunderstanding!
Crispus Attucks was sadly the first to die on March 5,
1770 often called the Boston Massacre.
Who is Paul Revere?
Have you ever wondered who is Paul Revere? Paul Revere is
a patriot, a patriot is a person who fought for the making of
america. He was also a painter (well he mostly copied other
artists engravings in his own way.) that is how he got involved in
the Revolutionary War. The one engraving that really got him in
the war was the one he made of the Boston Massacre it was
showing British troops firing on innocent people. But in the
Boston Massacre the Patriots were throwing wood and other
things! The painting made Great Britain look like a bad guy.
Later on in 1775 he was involved in the event called Paul
Revere’s Midnight Ride. It was where Paul Revere rode his
horse to warn the patriots that Great Britain's troops were
coming but he also went because he needed to warn Samuel
Adams and John Hancock that they were in trouble. Eventually
he had 13 children and lived happily. Imagine if you were him
being known even in the 21st century!
Why is Paul Revere’s Ride Important?
Paul Revere’s Ride was important in the Revolutionary War.
Three things suport this one reason is it was how some british
people rebelled from Great Britain, another reason is it made
the British people expect war between them and the Colonists.
Those two were all about the loyalists what about the colonists
Finally? It made the colonists angry!
First the British saw how their army fled from a bunch of
farmers. So most loyalists (King George's supporters)lost hope
in the British troops and switched sides. They (loyalists) were
also afraid of what would become of them if they were on the
British side and lost the war!
After that many loyalists got ready for any kind of attack
from the colonists. They thought their army was weak because
of its last performance where the soldiers fled from farmers and
not trained every day people.
Once that attack was over the colonists were angry at the
solders for trying to invade the colonies, capture Samuel Adams
and John Hancock, and the British were also going after the
colonists ammunition storage.
These three reasons are why Paul Revere’s Ride was
important to the revolutionary war. One it was how people
rebelled from Great Britain, it was how people in Great Britain
began to be ready for war, and it was how the colonists got even
more angry. That is why Paul Revere’s Ride was important.
This is paul revere on his horse riding to warn the
patriots the British soldiers were coming.
A Night in Boston.

Dear Diary,
Today father says he is almost done with his painting! I think
it will be of the meadow Joseph my brother says it will not be of
the meadow, but I still think it will be of a meadow. Soon it is
time to blow my candle out.
Sincerely, Joshua Revere

Dear Diary,
Just a little bit earlier father finished his painting. It is more
about war that a meadow. But it is still amazing father said he is
going to make many copies so all Britain can see. I hope
everyone will love it and the British will not think we are against
their cause.
Sincerely, Joshua Revere

Dear Diary,
I feel torn because father is so happy about his painting but
the neighbors are now so against Great Britain's cause for
taxing us. Father's painting was making commotion between
Great Britain and the Colonies.
