the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. With
participation from the audience, they will

starting
a movement
Hurricane Katrina created an unprecedented
mental health crisis in New Orleans. As
clinicians, we faced the challenging task of
helping our patients while simultaneously
dealing with effects of the storm.
Now, five years later we are faced with
another disaster, the BP oil spill.
With these two environmental disasters,
we have found ourselves time and again
struggling to contain our patients’ growing
concerns as we come to terms with our
own experiences.
