PRIMROSE AMBASSADORS
Have you noticed the Ambassadors around Primrose lately? Ambassadors are an
elite group of residents who are selected to represent Primrose. They positively
model the “this is living” lifestyle by helping to cultivate relationships with residents
and future residents to grow the Primrose community. If you see a resident assisting at an event, that’s probably a Primrose Ambassador! You might even see
them wearing a Primrose polo shirt and nametag. Our Decatur Primrose currently
has 10 Primrose Ambassadors.
Ambassador Expectations:
1) Commit to helping with at least 3-5 Ambassador Opportunities per month
(prospective visits, luncheons, events)
2) Represent Primrose in a positive manner through words and actions at Primrose and in the Macon County community

A NOTE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Last month we said goodbye to our Director of Nursing
Janice Perkins. This month I am happy to announce that we
get to say hello again to our previous Director of Nursing
Beth Paul. Beth has many years of nurse management experience as well as experience with Assisted Living Management. Beth will be helping fill in the Director of Nursing
position until we can find and train a new Director of Nursing. Thank you Beth, we are so lucky to have you back!
KITCHEN NEWS
In response to the suggestions from our residents and family members, I have added some new items to our “always
available” menu including a “Lighter sides” option for
healthier choices.
I am also featuring some of our resident’s favorite recipes
and requests on our menus and this month I have added a
chop suey which was requested by our residents.
Every month we will be featuring a few ideas from you to
enhance your dining experience. Please email any recipes or
requests to [email protected] .
I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Margaret Miller, Dining Services Director
A NOTE FROM DMH THERAPY
Did you know...that there are 206 bones in
the human body? As infants we are born
with 270, but this decreases to 206 by
adulthood since some bones fuse together.
The hands have 54 bones, the feet have 52
bones. There are 33 bones that make up
the spine; 7 in the cervical (neck), 12 in thoracic (mid back), 5 in the lumbar (low back), 5 in the sacral region and 4 in the coccygeal region (both are at the base of the
spine).
The largest bone in the body is the femur, your thigh bone. The
smallest bone in the body is the stapes which is found in the
middle ear.

HAPPENINGS AT PRIMROSE
Our Mother’s Day Tea was a lot of fun and
we had a great turn out with guests! Thank
you so much to everyone that could join us
to celebrate all of our wonderful mothers
here at Primrose!
MEET OUR STAFF
We would like to finish introducing you to the rest of our kitchen staff this month. Here are just a few more of
the wonderful dietary aides we have working to make meal times great.
Noah Holthaus joined our Primrose family in January of 2017. He is from Maroa, IL. Noah has
one younger sister. When he’s not working, he runs track and plays football. He also finds
time to hang out with his friends. He has been a great addition to our family!
Evan Rizzo also became part of the family in January of 2017. He is from Decatur, IL. Evan has
one older brother and one younger sister. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights at the
gym and watching movies. Evan also plays basketball and soccer. We are happy to have him
in our family!
Reese Bobitt joined the family in March of 2017. She is from Forsyth, IL. Reese has one older
sibling. She stays very active when she is not at work. Reese enjoys playing soccer and volleyball, and is also a member of the speech and debate club and choir. She is a wonderful addition to the Primrose family!
These hard working Primrose family members are always happy to lend a helping hand! We are
glad to have them as part of the family and appreciate all that they do!
Thank you for getting to know our dietary aides! We will try to introduce some of our wonderful nursing staff
next month!
