Winter Outdoor Adventures
When Vail was built the winter time was the main focus for guests to travel to this beautiful destination. Guests have the opportunity to downhill ski,
cross-country ski, snowboard, snowmobile, go dog sledding, take a horseback ride, fly fish or spend a relaxing afternoon in our Signature Spa – we have
it all. Below we have listed a sampling of some of the favorites for our group clients in the winter time.
Alpine Ski and Snowboard
Vail is the largest ski Resort in North American with 5,289 skiable acres and seven natural bowls. The Resort is six miles wide and has the most groomed
terrain in the world. Their World Class Snowsports School for adults and children caters to all ability levels and they have 160 ski instructors from 30
countries around the world. At the Vail Cascade Resort we are one of the few hotels that offer true ski-in and ski-out access to Vail Mountain. Just jump on
our lift and gain access to the mountain within minutes. Once you have had your fill of Vail mountain you can easily travel to Beaver Creek, Keystone, A-Basin
or Copper Mountain to experience more of the unparalleled ski terrain of Colorado.
Snowmobile Tours
Enjoy a Rocky Mountain backcountry adventure into the White River National Forest. There is a snowmobile trip for everyone. Guests can enjoy a
guided, scenic snowmobile tour starting at an elevation of 8,000 feet and climb to 10,500 feet, while enjoying views of Vail’s Back Bowls, Notch
Mountain, the Continental Divide and three surrounding mountain ranges. All tours include transportation, guide gratuities, snack, snowsuits, boots and
a helmet.
Dog Sledding
Experience the adventure of an ancient form of arctic transportation. Whether you accept the challenge of driving your own team or choose to relax and
enjoy the scenery from the passenger seat, dog sledding is truly a unique adventure that you will never forget. Imagine the sound of the dog’s feet hitting
the snow and snow crunching under the runners as you enjoy the quiet solitude of nature. Sleds will move through glades of Aspen and passengers often
see wildlife, both deer and elk. Trip includes transportation, snack, hot beverage, personal dog sled driver, wool blankets and pillows.
Fly-Fishing
Guests have the opportunity to fish the Eagle River, Gore Creek, the Colorado River, the Roaring Fork River and the Yampa River as well as high-country
streams and lakes. Winter can be one of the most rewarding times to fish in the Rocky Mountains. Lakes and streams are bountiful and this translates
into unparalleled accessibility to the best fishing anywhere with guides that will take your fly fishing experience to another level - turning it into an

Snowshoe Tours
Spy a babbling creek, muffled by pillows of snow. Savor the vista of a jagged ridgeline backed by Colorado blue sky. Immerse yourself in the magic of soft
powder snow. Snowshoe into pristine landscapes of the White River National Forest with your own naturalist guide and discover the wonders of local
wildlife, see plant and forest communities and local geology. Your professional guide will cater to your own ability level. All trips include transportation, guide

Cross-Country Skiing
Vail boasts miles of beautiful, scenic trails for Cross-Country skiers of all ages and abilities. Guests can enjoy the Nordic Track, 20 minutes from the Resort or
they can venture in to the back country and break their own trails overlooking the highest peaks in the valley. Experienced guides will cater to your ability
level. All trips include transportation, guide gratuities, skis, poles, leather boots, bottled water, backpacks and a snack.
Horseback
In the winter guests can experience a horseback ride at the historic 4Eagle Ranch in Wolcott, Colorado, just 40 minutes west of Vail. There is nothing
quite like a horse moving quietly through snow blanketed fields with the sun shining down on your face. The solitude is unparalleled. Each horseback
ride starts with an informational safety and demonstration talk to help riders feel comfortable while out on the trail. The Ranch setting offers
breathtaking views of the Sawatch Range, Castle Peak and Red and White Mountain. Wranglers are hand selected from the best in the Vail Valley.
