“Acting, it’s so much more fun than real life.” By Anna Dragseth Fairview High School’s drama team has kicked off the year with a bang! The team has been working extra hard to keep the club up and moving. Mrs. Oakland, a fellow English teacher at Fairview High School, has lead the team to success this year with high hopes for the future of the club. The team plans to attend many competitions and meets throughout the year to improve their skill and performance. On October 28, 2016, they went to a competition in Billings with just eight members and took part in a competition that had about 500 attendants statewide. Overall they had a great time there and placed 2nd as a team for class C. Matthew Hurley placed 8th for his humorous solo out of 15 contestants. Hurley said, “ Drama club is fun and it helps people gain confidence. This year the club has gained much improvement compared to last year.” The acting team purchased shirts that have a slogan, “Acting, it’s so much more fun than real life.” They wear them to the meets and competitions. Jamison Miller said, “ I like the shirts they show I participate in something and they show that I do something with my life.” The club plans to put on a murder mystery theater in April for the community to come and watch. The club’s next meet is in Baker, Mt on November 11 and they are participating in humorous solos and humorous duos. Break a leg!
