personal refreshment and God’s leading as we

Thank God for the life of Fusi Vaki, SU Tonga’s
National Director, who passed away in February.
Please uphold Fusi’s family, and pray for the new SU
Tonga Director Benji Tonga and SU work in Tonga.

decisions about the place of religion in schools
and for fair and discerning decisions.

Give thanks for Southern Regional
Director Nigel Winder ‘s ten years
with SUNZ. This weekend Nigel,
and Ruth Vercoe, will be at the
Unlimited conference in Christchurch taking workshops for children’s ministry
leaders. Please pray as they contact a wide variety
of different people and enthuse them about
children’s ministry.
9 April
Planning is underway for WAY2GO children’s
ministry conferences. Please pray for Hilary,
Annette, Nigel, Andrew, Raewyn and Paul as they
plan content and invite people to help.
10 April
Please pray for Annette Osborne
preaching at River Valley Baptist
Church, West Auckland. Pray too
for wisdom and creativity as
Annette updates the SUPAkidz
programme for next term -–that it is suitable for
the school environment clubs meet in.

SUNZ Board conference call. Please pray for the

Please pray for Annette Osborne leading a
workshop on the state of children’s ministry in
New Zealand with Baptist children’s ministry
workers.

Please pray for Sylvia Coulter in her new part-time
role of “Supporter Relations Facilitator” – keeping
in touch with our prayer supporters, sharing news
of what staff and SU volunteers are up to, and
encouraging people to get involved.

Give thanks for our finance team of Simon
Rowbotham, Anitha Yadavaraj and Phuong Dang,
and pray for them in this busy time of year as they
prepare 2015-2106 annual reports.

Please pray for Auckland Youth Consultant Andy
Banks working through ways to
promote Youthserve and grow it
across Auckland and NZ. Some
ideas involve greater links with
schools, and use of the
programme by churches. Pray too
that Andy will be able to balance his part-time
study at Laidlaw College with work at SUNZ and St
Michael’s, family and church.

Andrew Ramsbottom is leading an
intergenerational service at Petone
Baptist Church today. Please pray for
openness for all ages to worship,
share and learn together.
18 April
Praise God for His work in the lives of SUNZ
campers. Give thanks for Andy Banks’ sons, Thomas
and Matthew, who formed a buddy group for
other Ponui Senior campers to meet frequently and
encourage one another in their walk with God.
Please pray for the youth campers who have now
graduated from SUNZ camps and left school; that
they would find God in their new world this year.
19 April
Praise God for the campers who rededicated their
lives to Christ at Surf Camp and those who decided
to be baptised. Please pray for a
surf camp venue for next year,
ideally one with a hall and more
shelter from the weather.
20 April
Please pray for Maurice Roberts as he continues to
develop Resources for Life, the online shop on our
new website.
21 April
Please pray for the preparation of May Adventure
Magazine; for inspiring articles and a layout that
invites readers to engage with our message.

Please pray for Paul Dadd who has
been in a part-time role with SUNZ
since the end of January when he
started a part-time, Children and
Families Pastor role at St Margaret’s
Anglican Church in Hillsborough. In his reduced
hours for SUNZ, Paul is focusing on oversight of
the SUPAkidz and SURGE groups in Auckland
and on children and families training initiatives.
23 April
Give thanks for all the campers who made first
and recommitments to be followers of Jesus at
summer camps. Please pray they will continue in
spiritual growth; that the momentum in their
walk with Jesus can be maintained and nurtured
by someone in their church or family; and for the
ongoing habit of daily Bible reading begun on
camp to continue in the busyness of life.
24 April
Rejoice with us over some substantial recent
grants, including one which will allow SUNZ
Adventure Lodge on Mount Ruapehu to be fully
double glazed.
25 April
Please pray for Auckland Children and Families
worker Annette Osborne working on the next
round of the SUNZ Children’s Ministry Survey,
writing more curriculum to go alongside the
‘Chronicles of Paki’ books, and preparing
workshops for WAY2GO conferences. Pray for
fresh ideas, wisdom and creativity to flow.

that people will feel excited about coming
along and that there will be plenty of
registrations. Please pray for the children
and families team too as they pray and think
and prepare.

Former staff member Kingsley Morris has
been accepted to serve in Malawi with SIM.
Please pray for Kingsley, Margaret and their
two daughters
3 May
Please pray for Christian groups in high
schools, and the students leading these
groups, particularly those facing opposition
to their group meetings. Please pray for
wisdom and strengthening relationships
with their schools and communities.
4 May
As SUPAkidz and SURGE Club start for term
two please pray for the schools they meet in
and for all the children who come along.
Pray for enthusiasm and joy for the children
as they decide if they want to come along.

Please pray for a continued supply of dedicated
directors, group leaders, cooks and general
helpers for all SUNZ camps. Some of our
summer camps were short of team members
until the eleventh hour. Please pray that as we
recruit teams for the July camps, leaders will sign
up much sooner, making planning for camp
easier.

Please pray as May Adventure Magazine is sent
out, for all those reading it, and for a good
response to the appeal letter.
10 May
Please pray for the Otago Regional Committee
which meets in Dunedin today, followed by a
prayer meeting for the work of Scripture Union.
Give thanks with us for all our faithful prayer

Please pray for the success of our 2016 Children’s
Ministry Surveyand for children’s ministry
workers all around the country to get involved
so we can gain a clear picture of what is happening for our children in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

God and dare to believe that God wants to use

Wellington Prison Fellowship kids camp in
Wellington in July. Pray for Andrew Ramsbottom
overseeing the camp, that a team of committed
leaders who will be able to offer ongoing
support to campers after camp will be found in
good time, and for the children who attend.

weekend of Bible engagement and discipleship
through storytelling, with a theme of ‘Man at the
Well’ , at Narrows Park Christian Camp. Please
pray that campers will be inspired as they read
and listen to the voice of God and step out into
God's story for themselves.
