The Hydro-Cure® cartridge line has now
been expanded to include a combination
granular activated carbon cartridge and
KDF-55. The design and construction
are identical to our popular GAC line
with the addition of KDF-55 to increase
the capacity for chlorine reduction.
Chlorine is reduced through an oxidationreduction reaction giving the cartridge
up to three times the capacity of
equivalently sized GAC's. KDF-55 is
positioned at the inlet portion of the filter
in a segregated layer and is retained
by an inlet prefilter. Water then passes
through a layer of 20 x 50 mesh granular
active carbon as a final polish to remove
taste and odors. A 20 micron post filter
reduces fines.
