TruDO® Optical probes solve the problems associated with traditional
DO sensors i.e., midrun sensor failure, polarization, leaking electrolyte,
broken or poisoned cathodes. The TruDO Optical sensor has one
replaceable part, the sensor cap. Unlike a traditional DO sensor,
the TruDO sensor cap needs to be replaced very infrequently (every
6 months or so). In side by side tests the sensor tracks traditional
DO probes without the need for membrane replacement after every
run or two. In addition the probe can be kept in the reactor without
maintenance before CIP and left dry without any adverse effects.

VP Cables
Connect your existing DO cable to the TruDO Optical sensor, then attached
the TruDO power supply to the two unused wires on the VP 6.0 cable to
power the sensor, plug in the power supply and you are ready to go!
New DO Loops
No transmitter is required! While the TruDO Optical sensor is designed as
a plug and play replacement for traditional polaragraphic DO sensors it
can also be used without a transmitter. The reason is that the transmitter
is already built into the sensor saving you the cost of a transmitter for
every new installation.
4-20 mA Output
For customers that want a 4 to 20 mA dissolved oxygen signal output,
the TruDO Optical sensor provides this when connected to a VP cable
and the TruDO 4-20 mA output adapter.

TruDO Optical
The other choice is to use the TruDO Optical sensor with digital RS485
ModBus RTU communication e.g.; with TruBio. With this option more
information than just the dissolved oxygen reading can be retrieved
from the sensor. Additional information includes: duration of use, time
at elevated temperature, and cap health. Like the other modes of
operation listed above you must supply power to the sensor (7 to 30
VDC). The dissolved oxygen sensor then acts as a slave device and
can be used as one of up to 32 devices.

TruDO 25 mm
TruDO® 25 mm sensors are designed for improved performance and
reliability in cell culture and fermentation applications. The DO sensor
includes an anode, cathode, membrane, electrolyte, and the electrical
connector that is connected to the transmitter using a cable (D4 or VP).
For a given transmitter, the sensor probe can be replaced. The sensor
probe can be separated from the cable and transmitter for sterilization. The
insertion length is 70 mm, and housing types are standard (D4 and VP) or
B. Braun safety (D4 only).

TruDO® housings are designed to protect traditional 12 mm DO sensors
when they are used in stainless steel bioreactors or fermentors. These
housings are manufactured using 316L stainless steel and only use
FDA approved wetted materials (e.g., o-rings). TruDO housings offer a
standard PG13.5 threaded insert for the 12 mm sensor and a selection
of interfaces with Standard Ingold, B. Braun Safety and Sanitary ports.
