International Daily Allowances and Accommodation Allowances (ARVVwV)

According to § 16 of the Bundesreisekostengesetz (BRKG, German Travel Expenses Act) and in agreememt with the German Federal Foreign Office the following general administrative regulation is issued for § 3 section 1 subs. 1 of the Auslandsreisekostenverordnung (ARV, Foreign Travel Expenses Ordinance):
The international daily allowances and accommodation allowances are fixed according to the amounts as per enclosed list.
If a meal is provided gratuitously, the allowance for the day will be reduced by 20 per cent for breakfast, by 40 per cent for lunch and by 40 per cent for dinner.
For necessary accommodation without proof by receipt, the international accommodation allowance comprises 50 per cent of the amount stated in the table below, but € 30,00 at most, according to § 3 section 1 and 2 ARV. The administrative regulation at hand becomes effective on January 1st 2017.
