Suggested activities with words:
Make words for your child to trace
Cut out words: organize them into like categories, put them on
flash cards, make a concentration game, alphabetize them, etc.
Group word families
Use each word in a meaningful sentence. You make a sentence
have your child expand it
Use individual letters to make words
Make word boxes
Make a sound box and put one letter in each box to form a word.
Have a family word of the week, a new word that everyone uses
in conversation until it becomes familiar by the end of the week
Traveling in the car, play word games
At the beach make giant words in the sand
Sidewalk chalk can make any word play more fun
