Customizing the Jeopardy Game
Step 1-Saving the Game to Your Network Drive
A generic Jeopardy Game has been created for you to use. You can
customize the game to your own needs by changing the Categories and
Questions.
The generic game can be found on the shared drive (M Drive) in a folder
called Jeopardy. Follow these steps to use to create your own copy of the
game. You can customize the game later. (Note: You can also find the
Jeopardy game on the Technology eBaord).
Log on to the network
Go to StartÖMy Computer and double click on the M Drive (under Network
drives)
Go back to StartÖMy Computer and double click on your own network
drive to see all of your files (This drive has your name as its drive name)
Click on the M Drive dialog box to select it and bring it to the front
Scroll down to the Jeopardy folder on the M Drive
Right click on the Jeopardy folder and drag it to an empty space among your
network files
Right click and
drag the Jeopardy
folder to your
network drive

Select Copy Here to copy the folder to your own network drive
This creates a duplicate of
the original folder in your
own network drive
Double click on the Jeopardy folder that is now in your network drive
Right Click on the actual Jeopardy.ppt PowerPoint file that is in your
Jeopardy Folder and select Rename
Change the name of the file but keep the .ppt extension (For example,
replace jeopardy.ppt with mygame.ppt or any other descriptive name for
your new game)
The file that you renamed now belongs to you and you
may make any changes to it to accommodate your own
needs (For example, you might want to make your
own Egypt Jeopardy game. See the next page for
instructions on how to customize your Jeopardy game
categories and questions.

Step 2-Customizing the questions and categories to meet your own
needs
Double click on your new Jeopardy PowerPoint file to open it up in
PowerPoint
Click on Slide 2 to open up the gameboard screen
Click your mouse in any category and type in a new name of your choice
(You may need to change the font size to fit the box)
At this point, you are ready to start adding questions and answers
You need to come up with 5 questions for the new first category that you
created
Click on slide 3 to open it and replace the current question with a question of
your choice from your first category
Go to slide 4 and replace the answer with the correct answer to your new
question from slide 3
Follow the same procedure for slides 5-12 replacing the questions and
answers (At this point, you are finished with your first category)
Slide 13 separates the categories—and indicated that you are ready for your
second category questions and answers
Use slides 14-23 for questions and answers for your second category
Slide 24 separates the categories—and indicated that you are ready for your
third category questions and answers
Use slides 25-34 for questions and answers for your third category
Slide 35 separates the categories—and indicated that you are ready for your
fourth category questions and answers
Use slides 36-45 for questions and answers for your fourth category

Slide 46 separates the categories—and indicated that you are ready for your
fifth category questions and answers
Use slides 47-56 for questions and answers for your fifth category
Slide 57 separates the categories—and indicated that you are ready for your
sixth and final category questions and answers
Use slides 58-67 for questions and answers for your sixth category
Save your work
Your New Jeopardy Game has been created and is ready for you to use. To
use your game, do the following:
Go to ViewÖSlide Sorter on the upper menu bar
Click on the first slide (Slide number 1)
Go to ViewÖSlide Show to start your new game (or click the F5 function
key at the top of the keyboard) and your game will start
NEXT: Ask Rich Werner for help if you want to add a daily double. It really
adds an element of excitement to your game.
Please let Sheila or Rich know if you have completed a game. We would
like to add your game to a CD that will contain all games created by our
staff. This resource will be made available to all of our staff members.
