About Delhi
The National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT), has a
population of about 11 million and a metropolitan
population of about 16.3 million, making it the second
most populous city. Such is the nature of urban
expansion in Delhi that its growth has expanded beyond
the NCT to incorporate towns in neighboring states and
at its largest extent can count a population of about 27
million residents as of 2016. The NCT and its urban
region have been given the special status of National
Capital Region (NCR) under the Constitution of India's
69th amendment act of 1991. The NCR includes the
neighbouring cities of Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad,
Faridabad, Neharpar (Greater Faridabad), Greater
Noida.
As a union territory, the political
administration of the NCT of Delhi today
more closely resembles that of a state of
India, with its own legislature, high court
and an executive council of ministers
headed by a chief minister. New Delhi is
jointly administered by the federal
government of India and the local
government of Delhi, and is the capital of
the NCT of Delhi. The city has been
continuously inhabited since the 6th
century BC. Through most of its history,
Delhi has served as a capital of various
kingdoms and empires. It has been
captured, ransacked and rebuilt several
times, particularly during the medieval
period, and modern Delhi is a cluster of a
number of cities spread across the
metropolitan region.

Distance: 240 kms / 4 hrs | Duration: Same Day Trip

Agra, the city known for the Taj Mahal,
the legendary monument of love - is the
single most famous tourist destination of
India. Approximately 210 kms from
south of Delhi, Agra is located on the
west bank of the river Yamuna. The
architectural splendour of the city is
reected in the glorious monuments of
medieval India built by the Mughals who
ruled India for more than 300 years.
Taj Mahal
(closed on Friday)
Agra Fort
(closed on Monday)
The Agra Fort, also built on the banks of
the river Yamuna, is another monumental
mission accomplished by the great
Mughal visionary, the Emperor Akbar.
His son Jehangir and grandson
Shah Jehan added to this imposing
structure during their respective reigns.
The palaces, mosques and audience
halls contained within its massive walls
of red sandstone are perfect examples of
the amalgamation of Islamic and Hindu
architectural traditions.

Duration: Full Day Trip
Delhi the capital of modern India, has been a political hub and capital city for the many empires and invaders of the Indian subcontinent. It
is the third largest city of the world. It is also the second largest metropolis after Mumbai with a population of over 13 million. Delhi is also
one of the oldest continually inhabited cities of the world. The various monuments of Delhi stand witness to its eventful past. From the Old
Fort, the Tughlaqabad area, to the various tombs in the city, each representing a separate period in the history of Delhi. The modern
historical monuments in New Delhi are mostly those built during the time of the British Raj like the Parliament House, President's House,
the India Gate among others.

magnicence and aesthetic beauty. A symphony in white marble, a tribute to eternal love, it was built by the Emperor Shah Jehan in

Agra Fort
Few forts in the world have a more fascinating story to tell than the great Agra Fort, an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and
the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire. Originally planned as an impregnable military structure by Akbar, the Agra Fort, over a
period of time, acquired all the elegance, lavishness and majesty of an imperial palace. Aside from the Imperial monuments of Delhi, the
‘Pink’ city of Jaipur with its royal palaces and the overwhelmingly beautiful Taj Mahal at Agra are the principal attractions of this tour of
North India.
Overnight in Agra
Day 3: Agra to Jaipur enroute Fatehpur Sikri (approximately 250 kms / 6 hrs)

Mughal capital for 14 years. Thereafter it was abandoned due to paucity of water. It is made of red sandstone and combines inuences
from both Hindu and Mughal architecture. To this day, the entrance to the fort is via the road that Akbar built which leads to the Buland
Darwaza, a huge 54 metre gateway. Other inspiring monuments in Fatehpur Sikri are the Hiran Minar that Akbar built in memory of his
favourite elephant, the Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chishti, Birbal's House and the Diwan-i-Khas.
