CRITERIA YOUR TRAINING PROGRAM MUST MEET
1.
The training must lead to a specific full time occupation.
2.
There must be a strong local job market in the field for which you are requesting training.
3.
The training program must be completed no longer than the time necessary to complete the credit requirements for an associate or baccalaureate degree as
determined by the educational institution.
4.
You must verify that you are eligible for financial aid throughout the training. (You are not eligible for financial aid if you have a defaulted student loan.)
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WHILE IN SCHOOL
1.
Submit proof of registration for your next quarter/semester classes
2.
Submit fee statement, financial aid award letter, class schedule, and grades to your CCA worker as requested.
3.
The student must be making satisfactory progress and remain in good academic standing in the education/training program as determined by the educational
institution for each quarter/semester.
4.
Submit your class schedule within ten days of receipt of it.
5.
If you wish to change training programs and continue to receive CCA, a new training packet must be completed.
6.
If you are working while going to school fulltime and need child care for work, you must work an average of 10 hours per week. If you are working while
going to school part time and need child care for work, you must work an average of 20 hours per week.
GETTING A JOB
If you need child care to look for work at completion of your training program, you must request child care to job search from your Child Care Assistance (CCA)
worker. Your worker will explain the rules for CCA job search. CCA can pay for up to 240 hours in a calendar year while you job search, with a minimum of 20
hours per week required. CCA job search will be paid while you participate in job search activities at the Minnesota Workforce Center, while you locate, contact, and
interview with potential employers, and while you prepare for interviews. Activities we will not approve include looking through the want ads at your home. If you
have not found employment at the conclusion of the 240 hours of job search, your CCA will be made temporarily ineligible or suspended. No child care will be
authorized during this time.
2
OTHER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1.
You must live in Anoka County.
2.
You must be within our annual gross income guidelines for your family size.
3.
We will pay for a maximum of 120 hours every two weeks for child care while you are in training and/or employment. Contact your worker to find out how
this is calculated.
4.
You may have a bi-weekly copayment fee based on your household size and annual gross income. If your provider waives the co-payment fee or agrees to a
payment plan or a third party pays the co-payment and you provide documented proof from the provider before the closing date, your case can remain open. If
for any reason you fail to pay this bi-weekly fee, your CCA may be terminated.
5.
You will receive a certain number of hours of CCA based on the number of credits you are enrolled in, when you have class, hours between classes, and for
study. Contact your worker to find out the number of hours you will be approved for.
