What are the busiest
ports in Australia…and
how do we service them?
Australia is an extremely large country
with ports and harbours spread
throughout the region. Many of these
ports are in remote regions of the country
and present logistical complications with
supplying service and support. We continue in our pursuit to supply a
comprehensive level of service to all of
Australia’s major ports.
The majority of vessels entering
Australian waters visit the east coast of
Australia from the north. The main
shipyards for major vessel upgrades are
also located on the east coast in Sydney,
Newcastle and Brisbane. The demand for
service related work is predominately
focussed around these cities. However,
requests for service are not limited to
these cities and often also include the
Pacific Islands, South East Asia and the
offshore oil fields of Western Australia.
Most vessels stop at more than one port
whilst in the Australian region, allowing
service visits to be conducted at more
Ports of Australia (Map from website
http://www.portsaustralia.com.au)
than one location or to be delayed
to a port in which service personnel
are available. Bulk carrier vessels
often spend several days offshore
awaiting to enter the required port
to be loaded with cargo.
There is no single port which
dominates the Australian market.
This means that there is a need to
have either a large number of
resources spread around Australia

or to utilise a number of key
resources including the Australian
air travel services to best service
the vessel as required. We have
chosen to use the latter approach.
Our ship service business is built
around a team of dedicated
professionals and suppliers that are
on hand to ensure a high degree of
support and services across
Australia.
