B.2 Addition sentences - sums to 10

Dear Rising First Grade Parents,
Research has proven the importance of consistent practice in reading and math
skills during the summer months. In trying to provide your children with a
challenging Christ-centered, college-preparatory education, we need your
partnership during the summer months to help your child begin the school year
ready to learn. This will allow our teachers to move ahead instead of spending
too much precious time reviewing skills from the previous year.
For a rising first grade student, there are two summer requirements that must
be completed prior to the first day of school. These assignments will be
reviewed by your child’s teacher and will be counted as a first quarter grade.
1.
Book Log – Your child will be required to read and log at least 8 books
during the summer on the blue sheet provided. This is one book per
week. You are encouraged to read more than 8 books, but 8 books are
required. Please return the blue reading log during the first week of
school.
2. IXL practice – Your child will be required to complete the following
sections of IXL math practice with 85% or higher accuracy. Your child has
utilized IXL all year during computer, so they should be familiar with their
user name, password, and how to log in. However, it has been provided
for you here:
