Identifying Setting Details and Creating Plot Chart
Setting:
In your copy of the story, highlight sections which describe the lighthouse or the area surrounding
it.
In the center of your paper, draw the lighthouse as described in the story.
Use details from the story to help make your illustration accurate.
In your picture, indicate which details you used from the story. (Use arrows, a short description,
and page numbers).
Plot:
Use your picture of the lighthouse as a plot chart. The left side is rising action, the tower’s peak is
climax, the right side is falling action.
Fill in the parts of plot chart (exposition, protagonist, antagonist, conflict, 3 events of rising action,
climax/turning point, falling action and resolution).
