Posted December 2, 2016 French Second Language Instructional Design Assistant Number of positions Approx. start date Length of contract Salary Approx. hours per week 1 January 16, 2017 6 months $20/hour 10 hours GradProSkills connects Concordia Graduate Students and Post-Doctoral Fellows to a wide range of skills development workshops and on-line resources designed to enhance their grad school experience and transition them into their chosen career path. One such offering is our French Conversation groups which provide students with a weekly opportunity to practice conversing in French - improving their vocabulary, structure and pronunciation, as well as their understanding of Quebecois culture. We are seeking a current graduate student, who has an interest and experience in instructional design, to undertake an assessment of our French conversation workshops. Requirements: • MUST be a graduate student, currently enrolled in a Concordia graduate program and continuing in program until August 2017. • MUST have experience teaching French as a Second Language to adult learners. • MUST have knowledge of syllabus design, curriculum planning, language assessment and the use of learning technologies. • Knowledge of different teaching methodologies and philosophies. • Awareness of the preparation requirements for official French language tests (TEFAQ; TCFQuébec; TEF Canada) • Professionalism, sense of responsibility and flexibility in terms of schedule organization of work. • Demonstrated ability to perform professionally both independently and in a team environment. • Familiarity with Concordia facilities / services and the GradProSkills program an asset. • Willingness to work on other GradProSkills events/activities as required.
