The Four-Way Test
Of the things we think, say or do
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Our Speaker Today Is
Frank McAuley, President of SSF Sister City Committee
“It’s A Small World”
US from Mexican Immigrants. After high
school, he attended UC-Davis where he
graduated with a degree in Electrical
Engineering. His first job out of college
brought him back home to work for a small
engineering firm in South San Francisco,
then recently moved to Genentech where he
currently resides as an Automation Engineer.
During high school, Antonio had the
privilege of traveling with the SSF Rotary
club on a sponsored trip to Japan and also
later received a college scholarship from the
Rotary club that helped pay his ever
increasing tuition fees.
LAST WEEK_____________________
Don Bowcutt
We had quite a full program for this meeting.
We had an excellent attendance to see DG
Bob Intner induct our new member Sharon
Dolan, who is the Executive Director of the
Boys and Girls Club. We are now a plus one
in membership. So we’ve got to pick it up
and bring in more members. So get your Ask
in Gear.
Gary Chow made a presentation of Rotary Club Flags
that he has pickup while making presentations to
these clubs on behalf of American Cancer Society.
So Antonio was here to give back. Can you
believe he gave a donation to our foundation
of a $1000. Now that is giving back. A
number of us talked to him about joining our
club. DG Bob Intner told him about a New
Generations Club Rotary is forming both in
SF and here on the Peninsula. This club
would meet in the evening, which seems to
work best for the younger, hard working New
Generation.
DG Bob Intner, PDG Riki Intner and
I told you we had a full program. Here we have Lisa
receiving a gift from a Rotarian from Taiwan in
exchange for our club flag. He was here on an
exchange program with the city. Gene Mullin escorted
him around in the morning. They had a lunch program
here at the Basque.

Welcome to
Rotary
Sharon!
Now to our speaker this day. What delight it
was to have Antonio Orozco speak to us.
Antonio was here to show his gratitude to
Rotary for helping him along the way with his
education.
Antonio Orozco grew up in the Bay Area
attending
Monte
Verde
Elementary,
Westborough Middle School then South San
Francisco High School. He comes from a
family of 6 and is part of the first generation
of children from his family to be born in the

It is with great sadness to report that
member Leroy Folmer past away last
Thursday, November 1, 2012. You may all
know that he was fighting cancer of the
kidney and was in hospice care at the
veteran’s hospital in Fresno. He is survived
by his wife Lottie and a son. Lottie is moving
on the 10th of November to Portland, Oregon
to be near her son.
Leroy was born May 25, 1922. He served in
the Army during World War II and while in
Pisa, Italy with no one around he was able to
explore the leaning tower of Pisa, climbing
the stairs to the top.
Leroy moved to SSF in 1973, moving to
Fresno 2005 where he was born and now
where he died.
Leroy was a leader in forming and building
Rotary Plaza and was on the Foundation
Board for many years. He planned many
excursions for the Seniors at the Plaza. He
started the Pancake Breakfasts. It is his
receipt that produces the fabulous pancakes
that he taught me to make. Rest In Peace
Dear Friend.
