Light rain showers combined with significant retardant drops has nearly brought the Denio Basin wildfire to a standstill. Despite some interior hot spots and the occasional flare-up, officials expect the fire to remain quiet through the evening and into tomorrow. The Denio Basin fire is located in the Pueblo Mountains, approximately 17 miles due south of Fields, Oregon, and just north of the Nevada border. A closer look at the burn perimeter shows the fire at approximately 1,800 acres - much smaller than originally estimated.
