ABSTRACT
Teaching strategies are practical and theoretical information and equipment that includes ultimate
knowledge and experiences. It is needed that techniques combining theoretical and practical knowledge into
same point to increase effectiveness of teaching strategies. Microteaching is one of the strategies that provide a
microscope-like tool for self-evaluation through peer collaboration. In this way, microteaching aims at
improving achievement by simplifying teaching and learning process. “Learnerteacher” is microteaching project
that aimed at developing teachers’ and teacher candidates’ teaching abilities by providing reflective feedback of
peers through watching volunteer teachers’ videotaped classroom activities. Project has been conducted in a
suburban area of Istanbul, Arnavutkoy. 8 volunteer teachers from the project participated the study. Data were
collected by administering semi-structured interview form. Interview form included seven questions asking
about the development of teachers in terms of teaching, classroom management, and feeling about the project.
Open-coding data analysis was used. As results, purposeful and gradual changes throughout the microteaching
project were found in terms of professional development.
