Annual Awards of IAVP - 2014
The Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists has instituted a number
of Awards which are conferred to Veterinary Pathologists who have excelled
in professional competence as assessed by appropriate criteria. The last date
for receiving award application is 10th October, 2014. The awards are listed
below. Please note that only Members of IAVP are eligible for the awards.

Invitation
We are happy to inform that Veterinary Pathology Congress-2014, 31st
Annual Conference of Indian Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP),
5th Annual Meeting of Indian College of Veterinary Pathologists (ICVP) and a
National Symposium on “Impact of Climate Change on Pathobiology of Diseases
of Animals, Poultry and Fish” will be jointly organized by the Indian Association
of Veterinary Pathologists and the Department of Veterinary Pathology,
College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Anand Agricultural
University, Anand-388001, Gujarat, India from 13-15 November 2014.
The Organizing Committee is delighted to extend a warm and cordial
invitation to all veterinary pathologists, veterinary & biomedical scientists
and academicians to participate in these events.
The symposium of the congress will focus on the impact of climate
change on the disease epidemiology, pathogens, pathogenesis of the disease,
host susceptibility, severity of lesions, mortality, patho-physiology of
various systems, impact on productivity, case presentations etc. This will
provide a suitable platform for all participants to exchange their knowledge,
research findings and to gain an understanding on impact of climate change
on pathobiology of diseases of animals, birds and aqua culture through
deliberations and discussions in a series of scientific sessions. The scientific
sessions will include key note address, lead papers, contributory research
papers and poster presentations.
Venue
Anand is popularly known as Milk Capital of India because of
presence of world famous Amul Dairy. College of Veterinary Science
and Animal Husbandry is the constituent faculty of Anand Agricultural
University located in the out skirt of the city with 65 acres lush green campus.
The College has witnessed 50 glorious years of its existence and 2014 is the
Golden Jubilee Year. The present Veterinary Pathology Congress is a part of
this celebration. The College has been awarded consequently for two years
with “Best Veterinary College of the year” Award by Times Research Pvt.
Ltd. under India Education Excellence Awards 2013 and 2014. Within the
University campus other constituent Colleges like Agriculture, Dairy Science,
Food Technology, International Agribusiness Management, Horticulture and
various research centers/farms are located. National Dairy Development
Board (NDDB), Institute of Rural Management and Sardar Patel University
are also located nearby. Ranchhodrai temple at Dakor (32 kms), Akshardham
at Gandhinagar (70kms), Somnath temple (400 kms), Dwarkadhish temple
(400kms), Ambaji temple (250 kms) and Sasan Gir lion safari (400 kms) are
other important visiting places. Weather during November will be mild hot
during day time and mild cold during night.
Transport & Accommodation
Anand city is well connected to major cities of India by road and rail.
It is located 60 kms south of Ahmedabad and 35 kms north of Vadodara at
the main Ahmedabad-Mumbai Western railway line. It is also well connected
by road from Ahmedabad and Vadodara air ports. The Veterinary College is
located near famous Jagnath Mahadev Temple and NDDB campus and is
about 4 kms from main bus stand and railway station of Anand. Arrangements
will be made to pick up the delegates from Anand railway station, Anand bus
stand and Ahmedabad/Vadodara air ports if informed in advance.
Accommodations will be arranged for delegates at the Guest Houses
of the University, Other institutes and standard hotels at Anand on payment
basis.

diseases of terrestrial animals, birds and
aquatic animals with emphasis on impact
of climate change. The symposium will

Annual Meeting of Indian
College of Veterinary
Pathologists
The Indian College of Veterinary
Pathologists (ICVP) was founded in
2008 as a personal certification system
for the Indian Association of Veterinary
Pathologists and who are also practicing
veterinary pathology as a profession. The
College has conducted the certification
examination almost every year and has
produced 33 certified pathologists. The
ICVP aims international quality for
practicing veterinary pathologists in
India. The fifth annual meeting of the
College Council and the General Body of
ICVP will be held during this period. The

Joint Meeting of Executive Committee of The Indian
Association of Veterinary Pathologists (IAVP) and The Asian
Society of Veterinary Pathology (ASVP)
Asian Society of Veterinary Pathology (ASVP), founded in 2003,
is a coalition of organizations in Asian countries that are fostering the
advancement of veterinary pathology in the region. It has eight member
organizations representing the profession in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan,
Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and India. The ASVP general
body meets once in two years and the 2015 meeting has been scheduled in
Philippines. The society encourages scientific and professional co-operation
among veterinary pathologists practicing the discipline in member countries
and proposes to act as a single voice of veterinary pathology in the region.
Submission of Abstracts/Lead Papers
The lead papers (Not exceeding 6 typed pages) and abstracts of
about 250 words containing title (Bold and capital letter), author(s) names
and full address of institute with presenting author marked with star should
be typed in MS word in New Roman (font size 12) in 1.15 spacing. Abstract
should contain in brief about objective, materials and methods, results and
conclusion. Lead papers/Abstracts are to be submitted through E mail ID:
[email protected] on or before 10th October, 2014. The mode of
paper presentation of abstracts as Oral/Poster will be communicated in the
letter of acceptance after screening by scientific/publication committee.
Presentations
Oral Presentations: All oral presentations should be made by power
point. The time for lead paper is 15 minutes and abstract presentation is 5
minutes with 2 minutes discussion. The speakers are advised to bring the PPT
in pen drive /CD.
Poster Presentation: A poster should be informative, attractive and
self explanatory. The size of the poster should be 3 ft tall and 4 ft wide and
own pins should be used for attaching the poster to the tack board.
