He is also survived by his sister, SHEILA WEINER (JEFFREY), and by numerous nieces and nephews. His brother, DAVID, died in 2005. Although he adored his family, Lee was uncommonly attached to his work. He literally grew up in the lighting business, United Light Company, founded by his grandfather and then carried on by his father, HENRY. HENRY saw to it that LEE and his late brother learned the business from the ground up. LEE would often come home reciting catalog numbers of items he could not get out of his head. After his family and his work, his passion was golf, and he played even when deep into his illness. He enjoyed golf so much, in fact, that - unlike many passionate golfers he even played with his wife soon after she learned the game. Only those closest to him were aware of his illness. He wanted no special treatment from his friends, and, amazingly, worked until two weeks before his death, even though he could barely get to his car. Nor did he ever complain about the intense pain he was suffering. Lee never asked, "Why me?" as many afflicted with a similar disease might have, but instead remained steadfast until the end, leaving his wife, children, and friends a legacy of strength, courage, and integrity that will always be remembered.
