Our church's volunteers are the best! Todd, Cherise, Leif, and Rudy want to celebrate all of you who are part of any of our ministries by having lunch with you on Sabbath, September 28, in the fellowship hall. After lunch, the pastors will share the vision of what we want to accomplish in the next year and then each ministry team will have time to talk about objectives and responsibilities for the upcoming year. The gathering will wrap up before 3:00 p.m. Thank you to all who donated school supplies to our Lit Knitter's Book Club community project. We were able to fill 25 backpacks with school supplies for needy children. Children's Choir is back! The children will meet after church in the adult choir room next 1 Sabbath. They have a wonderful program in store for the congregation this fall. Look for it! The Second Saturday Series proudly presents organist, Robert Gosselin on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. This concert includes works from Michael Burkhardt, Louis Vierne, Johann Sebastian Bach, and more! Previously organist for the Notre-Dame-de-Foy and Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-la-Salle churches in Sainte-Foy, he currently holds the position of chief organist for the Saint-Yves and Saint-Louis-de-France parishes, also in Sainte-Foy. Robert Gosselin is also Musical Coordinator for the Faculty of Music at Quebec City’s Université Laval. Born in Canada, Robert Gosselin started his musical education at age 12. In 2001, he received a B.A. in music performance at Université Laval under Yvon Larrivé. In 2005, he completed his master’s in performance with Richard Paré, harpsichordist of Les Violons du Roy. Active in the Quebec music scene, he performed recitals on numerous occasions: as part of the Conférences Notre-Dame at the Notre-Dame Basilica-Cathedral in Quebec City; for the Printemps en musique at Notre-Dame-du-Très-Saint-Sacrement church; during the summer concert series at Charlmers-Wesley United Church, and in various school concerts. In 2005, he performed in Montréal at Très-Saint-Nom-de-Jésus church during the prestigious Orgue et Couleurs festival, as well as at Saint-Roch church for the Amis de l’orgue de Québec. In the last years, he developed an interest in 19th and 20th century works by composers from various countries.
