Additional Psalms of David
• Unsure of many of the exact times of
their writing
• 8,14,15,16,19,29,36,37,39,53,64,65,68,
69,70,109,124,131,133,138,139,144
and 145
• Thoughts from these psalms reveal
to us why David is considered “a
man after God’s own heart”
Psalms
• Psalm 8 - O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
• Pslam 14 & 53 start with - The fool has said in
his heart, “There is no God.”
• Psalm 139 – 7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
Psalm 19
7 The
law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the
eyes;
9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous
altogether.
10 More to be desired are they than gold,
Yea, than much fine gold;
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Thoughts
• Decisiveness of Solomon
• Was warned by David of those who
had caused trouble and Solomon
didn’t ignore these issues
• Fulfilling the Law of God
• Don’t forget about the phrase
“Inquired of the Lord”
