Method: The study was conducted on 20 players of the reserve team (A2) of Turkish Super League Football team. Research group was distributed to 3v3+R (n=6), 4v4+R (n=8) and TET (n=6) groups according to their Yo-Yo intermittent recovery test level 1 (YYIRTL1) performances. During the training sessions, heart rate, blood lactate concentrations and perceived exertion levels (RPE) were recorded. YYIRTL1, 30-m sprint test, agility test (T-test) and repeated sprint test (TST) were applied at the beginning and end of training. Results: All groups showed development in YYIRTL1 performance (4.4%, 4%, 8%), 30-m sprint performance (1%, 0.2%, 0.7%) and 20-m sprint performance (2.1%, 0.7%, 0.3%). 10-m sprint performance developed in SSG groups (3.6% and 1.8%) but declined in TET (0.6%). T-test results showed improvement in SSG groups (5.1% and 4.5%) with no improvement in TET. SSG groups showed 5% and TET group showed 2.8% improvement in repeated sprint test. Average sprint values improved by 4.7% in SSG and 2.7% in TET. In SSG group, fatigue index values for pre and post test were 0.07 and 0.09, respectively. In TET group, these values were 0.18 and 0.14, respectively. Conclusion: Running method is more effective than SSG for aerobic endurance; however, SSG was found to be more soccer-specific for development of aerobic endurance and due to its effects on 10, 20 and 30-m sprint, agility and ability to recover.
