Το Porto Heli Collection είναι μια συλλογή από τρία πεντάστερα ξενοδοχεία, δύο beach clubs, ένα γήπεδο γκολφ 18 οπών με διεθνή υπογραφή και οικιστικές αναπτύξεις –φέρουσες ή μη φέρουσες κάποιο brand– στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Πόρτο Χελίου. Ήδη σε πρώτο κατασκευαστικό στάδιο βρίσκονται το ξενοδοχείο και οι βίλες του Amanresort κοντά στην Κορακιά, καθώς και οι Sea Front Villas στην Κοιλάδα. Τι ήταν αυτό που προσέλκυσε την Dolphin να επενδύσει στην περιοχή του Πόρτο Χελίου; Τα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά που εξετάζουμε στο στάδιο πριν από την αγορά οποιασδήποτε από τις εκτάσεις μας είναι: πρόσβαση, εγγύτητα στη θάλασσα, ανεκμετάλλευτη φυσική ομορφιά, δραστηριότητες στην περιοχή και, ασφαλώς, διαθεσιμότητα της εκμεταλλεύσιμης γης. Η περιοχή του Πόρτο Χελίου αποτελούσε συνδυασμό όλων των παραπάνω στοιχείων, καθώς βρίσκεται σε απόσταση μόνο δύο ωρών με το αυτοκίνητο από το αεροδρόμιο της Αθήνας και είναι προσβάσιμη όλο το χρόνο. Πώς εντάσσονται τα Amanresorts στο Porto Heli Collection; Τα Amanresorts είναι πιθανώς το πιο υψηλού επιπέδου, εκλεπτυσμένο brand στον κόσμο, συνώνυμο με την απλή κομψότητα. Σε αντίθεση με τη συνήθη πρακτική που ακολουθούμε με designers and hotel operators. Our portfolio currently consists of fourteen projects under development, in Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey, Panama and the Dominican Republic. The Porto Heli Collection is a collection of three leading hotels, two beach clubs, a signature golf course, and branded as well as unbranded residential units currently under development in the greater Porto Heli area. Construction on the first phase, which includes the Aman Hotel and Villas near Korakia in addition to the Sea Front Villas in Kilada, has already commenced. What attracted Dolphin to invest in the Porto Heli area? The key features we examine prior to acquiring any of our sites are: access, proximity to sea, unspoiled natural beauty, surrounding activities, and of course available developable land. The Porto Heli area met all the above features, as it is just two hours by car from the Athens Airport and approachable year round, is located on the sea, has spectacular view and of course combines island life in Spetses and Hydra with mainland conveniences and rich history. How does Amanresorts fit into the Porto Heli Collection? Amanresorts is probably the most upscale, high end hotel brand in the world synonymous with understated elegance. Unlike other locations where we basically offer a specific site to a hotelier to operate, we chose the site for the Aman Resort together with Aman. About five years ago, when Dolphin was first started, Miltos Kampouridis (founder/CEO of Dolphin) together with Adrian Zecha (owner/CEO of Aman) scouted dozens of sites around Greece for the next Aman. Flying over Agios Panteleimonas, Adrian asked to land on the highest hills in the area took a few steps out of the helicopter and basically proclaimed “this is an Aman site.” The acquisition of the property started after that visit. Together with the Sea Front Villas we decided that it makes sense for the Aman to be part of the first phase of the Porto Heli Collection, and we are already quite satisfied with the άλλες τοποθεσίες, όταν δηλαδή προσφέρουμε μια συγκεκριμένη τοποθεσία σε έναν ξενοδόχο για την εκμετάλλευσή της, η τοποθεσία για το Amanresort επιλέχθηκε σε συνεργασία με τα Aman. Περίπου πέντε χρόνια πριν, όταν η Dolphin μόλις είχε ξεκινήσει την πορεία της, ο Μίλτος Καμπουρίδης (ιδρυτής και CEO της Dolphin) με τον Adrian Secha (ιδιοκτήτης και CEO της Aman) αναζητούσαν δεκάδες τοποθεσίες στην Ελλάδα για το επόμενο Aman. Κατά τη διάρκεια μιας πτήσης πάνω από τον Άγιο Παντελεήμονα, ο Adrian ζήτησε να προσγειωθεί στην υψηλότερη κορυφή της περιοχής, έκανε μερικά βήματα εκτός του ελικοπτέρου και ουσιαστικά ανακοίνωσε: «Αυτή είναι μια τοποθεσία για ένα Aman». Η αναζήτηση και η αγορά του κτήματος ξεκίνησαν έπειτα από αυτή την επίσκεψη. Συνδυαστικά με τα Sea Front Villas, αποφασίσαμε ότι έχει νόημα το Aman να αποτελέσει κομμάτι του πρώτου μέρους του Porto Heli Collection, και ήδη είμαστε πολύ ικανοποιημένοι με το έντονο ενδιαφέρον που παρατηρούμε για την αγορά των βιλών, τόσο εντός του Aman όσο και των Sea Front Villas. Οι κατασκευαστικές εργασίες ξεκίνησαν την άνοιξη του 2010 και το resort θα ανοίξει την άνοιξη του 2012. Aκούγεται πολύ στις μέρες μας ο όρος «αειφόρος ανάπτυξη». Το Porto Heli Collection διαθέτει τέτοιου είδους στοιχεία; Στόχος μας είναι να παρέχουμε πολυτελείς εμπειρίες ζωής και πρεσβεύουμε ακράδαντα την αειφόρο ανάπτυξη όχι μόνο λόγω των δικών μας προσωπικών επιθυμιών, αλλά κυρίως γιατί αυτό ακριβώς είναι που περιμένουν οι πελάτες μας να ανακαλύψουν όταν φτάσουν στο συγκεκριμένο προορισμό. Όταν αποφασίζουμε να επενδύσουμε σε ένα μέρος, προσπαθούμε να εντοπίσουμε ένα πραγματικά μοναδικό περιβάλλον και να το ενισχύσουμε, παρά να απομακρυνθούμε από αυτό. Παραδείγματος χάρη, το Aman, όπως και τα υπόλοιπα projects μας στην περιοχή του Πόρτο Χελίου, προβλέπεται να χτιστούν σε ήδη υπάρχοντες ελαιώνες. Επιθυμούμε το project να φαίνεται σαν να γεννήθηκε μέσα σε έναν ελαιώνα και όχι το αντίθετο. Όπως τα Aman πράττουν σε όλα τα resorts, έτσι και εμείς επιθυμούμε να συνεργαστούμε με τους κατοίκους της περιοχής. Οι περισσότεροι εργαζόμενοι θα είναι ντόπιοι, τα προϊόντα θα αγοράζονται από την περιοχή –κατά το μέτρο του δυνατού– και πρόθεσή μας είναι να ενθαρρύνουμε τους επισκέπτες να εξερευνήσουν την τοπική κοινότητα, ενισχύοντας κατ’ επέκταση την τοπική οικονομία. You hear a lot these days about sustainable development. Does the Porto Heli Collection have such elements? Our goal is to provide luxury lifestyles experiences and so, not only for our personal desires do we work to sustain the environment but also because that is what our customers expect to discover once they come. When we target a site we try to identify a truly unique environment and enhance it, rather than remove from it. As an example, the Aman, as our other projects in the Porto Heli area are to be built in existing olive groves. We want the project to appear like it grew into an olive grove, rather than the reverse. To that effect we have relocated approximately 800 trees that will be placed back into position once the construction works are completed. All the units will have green roofs, so that they will both blend into nature but also save on the heating and cooling costs. Obviously there are many more initiatives in our design that are of more technical nature but all lead to the same result of limiting the disturbance to the natural environment. As Aman does in all resorts, we also want to work with the local residents. Most of the employees will be from the local area, produce will be purchased locally to the extent available, and the intent is to encourage our guests to explore the local community, thus providing additional customers to the local economy. Can you provide us an update on the next phases of the Porto Heli Collection, including the golf course in Kilada? Our development teams are currently working on advancing all phases of the project. Costruction works for the next phases of the Porto Heli Collection, including the golf course, the renovation of the Yiouli Hotel into a Nikki Beach, the Chedi Hotel as well as branded and non branded residences, will commence in the near future.
