OVERVIEW - MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENT The Greek Workshop on “High Solar Fraction Heating and Cooling Systems with Combination of Innovative Components and Methods “ was organised by CRES and took place at the International expo center “Expo Athens” in Anthousa, Attica. The workshop was held during “Eco Building Conference 2011”, in the framework of “Building Green” exhibition. The main objective of the workshop was to present: the concept and the outcomes of High Combi project the High Combi Greek installation, in technical and operational terms the rest of the European High Combi demonstration plants the solar air conditioning concept from theory to practice successful case studies in the field of solar cooling applications 3. DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT The High Combi workshop in Greece started by providing an overview of the project. The main points of it regarded the concept, the consortium and the main objectives and the results of the project. Besides, a brief presentation of 3 WP6 D23 the work packages of the project was given, together with a presentation of the main outcomes (deliverables). Then, there was a presentation of Solar Thermal Systems in general and of applications on European Building of Solar Thermal Systems for hot water, heating and cooling. During the workshop, all the European demo plants – created within High Combi project - were presented in detail, with special analysis for the Greek Demo Plat. There were also two presentations for Solar Cooling Systems and successful applications on Solar Cooling in Greece and world-wide. The programme and photos of the event are given in Annex I. 4. ATTENDEES PROFILE Most of the participants of the workshops were important key actors from technical offices, construction companies and research institutes in the field of Building sector. There were also representatives of companies, which are specialised in Solar Thermal Systems and members of Greek Solar Industry Association (EBHE). A number of persons for the academic sector (professors and students) also attended the workshop. The promotion strategy included electronic invitation to the members of EBHE, announcement in the Newsletter of “Building Green” exhibition, online registration in the website of the exhibition, uploaded agenda and invitation form in both the website of the exhibition and the website of CRES. The list of the participants is given in Annex II. 5. EVALUATION OF THE EVENT The participants were satisfied with the quality of Greek High Combi workshop and the provided information. Some of them expressed their interest to have 4 WP6 D23 access to the presentations. CRES uploaded all the participations in PDF format in the website of the “Building Green expo” - which hosted the workshop - and informed, through e-mail, all the persons included in the list of participants. The presentations are available in the following website: http://www.buildinggreenexpo.gr/greek/conference/eco-building-conference/ The duration and the organisation of the workshop were considered as satisfying. It lasted about 5 hours and kept the interest of the participants throughout the whole duration of it. Participants were encouraged to visit the project website to download all the available documentation, open to the public (www.highcombi.eu). 6. CONCLUSIONS The participants of the workshop expressed their interest for the operation of all demo plants of High Combi project and also for visiting the Greek Demonstration Plant in the CRES (Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving) offices in Pikermi. CRES suggested that a visit could be arranged 5 WP6 D23 after the end of the project and committed to inform all participants, when the visit will be arranged. The audience was also very interested for Solar Thermal Systems for Cooling and how the existing systems can be replaced or be combined with the old ones, already installed in the buildings.
