LA PRO LOCO DI REVINE LAGO
/ Il Lago Film Fest è stato uno stimolo per
/ Lago Film Fest, giunto alla decima edizione,

la Pro Loco, che ha permesso di dimostrare
a noi stessi e agli altri la grande capacità
organizzativa. Il festival è infatti stato un
trampolino di lancio grazie al quale si sono
potuti ridefinire il ruolo e le possibilità della
Pro Loco. Ciò non significa solo “salsiccia e
patatine”, ma anche saper affiancare occasioni
culturali più tradizionali a esperimenti più
innovativi, aprendo orizzonti culturali fruibili
a tutti. Il coinvolgimento della Pro Loco ad
eventi di questo tipo non solo arricchisce
ed aggiorna il suo ruolo culturale e sociale,
ma permette anche di sfruttare il suo forte
legame con il territorio, includendo persone
che non si sarebbero altrimenti messe in
gioco e preparando il terreno per nuove
possibilità. Il coinvolgimento della Pro Loco
nell’organizzazione del festival ha modificato
infine l’idea stessa dell’associazione e
l’impressione che avevamo di noi stessi e delle
nostre capacità. Percepita oggi in tutta la sua
forza propositiva, ci auspichiamo che sia la Pro
Loco sia la comunità prendano conoscenza
del proprio potenziale, per una continua
evoluzione.
“La miglior prova del valore di una civilta è la
qualita del tempo libero” Edman Irvin, 1947
si conferma come uno degli appuntamenti più
attesi dagli appassionati di cinema, musica, arti
visive e design. Un’occasione di incontro e di
scambio di idee per registi e autori italiani e
stranieri che scelgono l’antico borgo trevigiano
per presentare le loro opere.
Come nelle precedenti edizioni, le vie e i cortili
di Lago faranno da sfondo e da palcoscenico
ad un vivace programma di proiezioni
cinematografiche, performance artistiche,
spettacoli teatrali e concerti di musica
contemporanea.
Il valore degli artisti coinvolti, l’originalità
delle opere presentate e il rapporto profondo
che il festival ha saputo creare con la comunità
locale, rappresentano i segni distintivi e
qualificanti di questa manifestazione.
Il mio apprezzamento agli organizzatori e
un caloroso benvenuto a questa iniziativa
che rappresenta un momento di scambio
di esperienze culturali e contribuisce a
promuovere l’immagine della nostra Regione.

/ Il Lago Film Fest è una continua fonte di
emozioni. Sembra un festival piccolo, perchè
piccolo è il borgo di Lago che lo ospita, ma
grande è invece la qualità internazionale dei
corti e delle iniziative proposte. Il cinema breve
esaltato all'ennesima potenza in un contesto
da favola. I laghi di Revine Lago risplendono
dunque delle luci dei proiettori e le piazze e le
vie del paese della vallata si arricchiscono di
visitatori da tutta l'Italia e dall'estero.
È anche per questo che Lago Film Fest incarna
alla perfezione lo spirito del macrocartello
RetEventi: la Marca Trevigiana, infatti, è
un territorio dalle caratteristiche peculiari,
un’area agropolitana dove città e campagna
si fondono in un vero e proprio palcoscenico
naturale, un teatro diffuso dove la cultura può
trovare sedi ed espressioni sempre nuove. Non
è un caso, quindi, che in questo particolare
festival lo schermo principale diventi parte
integrante del lago. Anche quest’anno artisti
da tutto il mondo arriveranno a Revine Lago
per prendere parte all’evento e contribuire a
rendere la Marca Trevigiana un territorio dove
la cultura e l’innovazione vanno a braccetto.
Non posso allora che complimentarmi con la
giovane ma preparatissima organizzazione per
il lavoro svolto, augurando la miglior riuscita di
questa edizione.

IL COMUNE DI REVINE LAGO
/ Il Lago Film Fest compie dieci anni. Un
traguardo importante per una manifestazione
che nel tempo ha raccolto e meritato
riconoscimenti sempre più ampi e diffusi e
che ha dato modo ad un territorio come il
nostro di diventare luogo di incontro e di
scambio fra artisti provenienti da tutto il
mondo, offrendo quindi occasioni di crescita
e di “contaminazione” culturale. La naturale
cornice scenografica del lago e del suo
borgo storico consentono a tutti coloro che
partecipano a questa esperienza non solo di
accostarsi al linguaggio cinematografico, ma
anche di addentrarsi in uno spazio creativo
capace di suscitare pensieri, riflessioni,
sensazioni, dialogo. Tutti in qualche modo
diventano attori di questa azione culturale.
Scopo della cultura infatti non è offrire un
passatempo, quanto piuttosto provocare
un cambiamento, una modificazione, un
movimento in ciascuno di noi. A Viviana
Carlet, a tutto il suo staff, nonché ai numerosi
volontari che collaborano per la riuscita di
questo evento vanno il mio ringraziamento
e l’augurio di poter crescere, mantenendo
inalterato lo spirito e l’energia creativa che li
hanno finora contraddistinti.

/ Torna anche quest’anno l’appuntamento
IL COMITATO UNICEF DI TREVISO
con il Lago Film Fest, una splendida realtà
che in questi anni ha portato a Revine Lago
migliaia di visitatori e turisti appassionati di
cinema indipendente. In qualità di Comitato
Provinciale delle Pro Loco, porgiamo il nostro
plauso anche a tutti i volontari coinvolti
nell’organizzazione del Festival e, in particolare,
alla Pro Loco di Revine Lago, parte integrante
del team organizzativo della rassegna.
Auguro un buon lavoro a tutti e il consueto
(meritatissimo) successo a questo grande evento!
/ Collaboriamo con piacere a questa
manifestazione, giunta alla decima edizione
proprio nell’anno in cui l’Unicef festeggia i 25
anni della Convenzione dei diritti dell’infanzia,
i cui temi sono sempre stati presenti all’interno
del Lago Film Fest.
Il nostro impegno è ora volto a incrementare la
distribuzione di vaccini salvavita in paesi in cui
59 milioni di bambini rischiano vita e salute.
L’obiettivo è di vaccinarli tutti, dando la
speranza di un futuro migliore a loro, ai loro
paesi e al mondo intero.

/ L’Europa atterra a Lago. Abbiamo chiesto
IT
a otto paesi europei a quali tra i loro recenti
cortometraggi siano più affezionati, quali
hanno preferito, quali avrebbero voluto veder
ottenere maggior successo, in quali di essi si
identificano. La risposta che abbiamo ottenuto
si è concretizzata in un ampio programma
di retrospettiva europea. Un progetto che
è anche un’occasione: per scoprire nuove
tendenze cinematografiche; per dare spazio a
registi emergenti; per lasciarci raggiungere da
ciò che questi paesi vogliono dire. Ogni sera
una selezione di cortometraggi, curata dai
principali enti di promozione cinematografica
di ciascuna nazione partecipante. Otto focus
per incontrare visioni, storie, idee. Otto finestre
per guardare lontano e accorciare la distanza
dall’orizzonte. Ovunque esso sia.
/ Europe has landed in Lago. We asked eight
European countries to tell us which amongst
their recent short films they love the most,
which ones they prefer, which ones they’d like
to see gain greater success, which ones they
identify with. The answer we got was reflected
in a wide range with a European focus.
A project that reveals itself as an opportunity
to discover new trends in cinema, to make
room for emerging filmmakers, to listen
to what these countries want to say. Every
evening there’ll be a selection of short films,
curated by the main film institutes of each
participating nation. Eight focuses to meet
visions, stories and ideas. Eight windows to
look away and shorten the distance from the
horizon. Wherever it may be.

and Media School (BFM) dell’Università di
Tallinn. La BFM è di fatto l’unica istituzione
del Nord Europa a promuovere una
formazione di alto livello e in lingua inglese
nelle arti cinematografiche, audiovisive ed
interdisciplinari. Attraverso una formazione
pratica, i giovani registi si preparano ad una
carriera internazionale nella multiforme
industria dei media e degli audiovisivi.
E lo dimostrano i film d'animazione – e non –
presentati nel programma Eurovision, legati
a doppio filo alla BFM e al dipartimento
d’animazione della Estonian Academy of Arts.
/ Estonian short film program is presented by
a new generation of filmmakers who are either
graduating or already graduated from Baltic
Film and Media School of Tallinn University
(BFM), the only higher-educational institution
in Northern Europe teaching film arts,
audiovisual media and crossmedia studies in
English. Their focus is on professional handson training designed for international careers
in the world's rapidly growing audiovisual and
media industry. Also animation films included
in this program have a direct link to BFM as
the animation department of the Estonian
Academy of Art is located in the Baltic Film
and Media School.

/ Che il tema della crescita sia un argomento
tanto indagato dai filmmaker non è una novità.
Si tratta di una fase complicata, che richiede
un'attenta negoziazione fra i desideri personali
e le aspettative della società. I sei film in
programma offrono diversi punti di vista sulle
dinamiche coinvolte nella formazione
dell’individuo: il ruolo delle istituzioni in “Bla”,
i primi risvegli romantici e sessuali in “Little
Darling” e “Terrarium”, i primi addii in “Baby
Sitter” e “Daniil Ivanovic, You Are Free!”.
Ma come dimostra “Shame On You”,
raggiungere una certa età non significa smettere
di crescere. Considerando la gamma di stili,
scelte estetiche e argomenti trattati, il panorama
dei cortometraggi croati mostra un livello
di maturità che non teme di accettare la sua
natura fluida e in continua evoluzione.

/ It is no wonder that coming of age
is a popular topic amongst filmmakers:
it is a complex process that requires careful
negotiation between intimate needs and social
expectations. Six films presented
in this program offer different views on the
forces that shape the individual:
the role of institutions in “Bla”, first romantic
and sexual feelings in “Little Darling” and
“Terrarium”, and first farewells in “Babysitter”
and “Daniil Ivanovic, You Are Free!”. But
as “Shame on You” demonstrates, growing
up doesn’t end when you reach a certain age.
Considering the diversity of styles, aesthetics
and themes tackled, the Croatian short film
scene showcases a high level of maturity: the
one that is not afraid of accepting its fluid and
ever-changing nature.

Fest, dalla Norvegia siamo orgogliosi di
poter presentare una selezione di recenti
cortometraggi. I sei film in programma
vi introducono alla nuova generazione di
filmmaker e alla loro varietà di generi, stili
ed estetiche. Dal premiatissimo “Premature”
di Gunhild Enger, storia del primo incontro
tra una sposina novella e i suoceri norvegesi,
al documentario animato “Blame It on the
Seagull”, racconto dell’adolescenza di un
uomo affetto dal disturbo ossessivo compulsivo
(DOC) e dalla Sindrome di Tourette. E con
queste brevi storie, provenienti dal Nord, vi
auguriamo una buona visione.

/ We are pleased to present a selection of
shorts from Norway for the 10th anniversary
of the Lago Film Fest. The six films selected
for the program represent a new generation
of filmmakers and a variety of genres, styles
and aesthetics – from Gunhild Enger’s awardwinning “Premature” – an intense story of
a newlywed woman’s first meeting with her
Norwegian in-law – to Julie Engås’ “Blame It
on the Seagull” – an animated documentary
based on the teenage years of a man with
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and
Tourette Syndrome. We hope you will enjoy
these short stories from the far North.

lieti di presentare una selezione di sei
cortometraggi, selezionati dal catalogo
di Polish Shorts. Raccogliendo i titoli più
acclamati degli ultimi anni, il programma
per Eurovision vi permetterà di approfondire
le tendenze più recenti del cortometraggio
polacco, attraverso il pluri-premiato “Frozen
Stories”, i documentari “Freestyle Life” ed
“Hemits” e le tre brevi animazioni “Noise”,

are glad to present a selection of six short films
extracted from the Polish Shorts catalogue.
This program will let you take a sneak peek of
the current tendencies in Polish short cinema.
The program is composed of the most popular
recent titles, such as the multi-awarded fiction
short “Frozen Stories” or documentaries
“Freestyle Life” and “Hermits”, as well as
three short animations: “Noise”, “Games” and
“Beach”. Wishing you many great moments at
the festival, we hope you will enjoy this brief
encounter with the Polish short cinema.

new Romanian filmmakers, through their
short films in the “Romanian fresh shorts”
program. Some of the authors are still students
in the film academy, others are freelancers,
so “diversity” is the key word of the selection.
We couldn’t thank enough the Lago Film Fest

future of the Romanian cinema.

più premiati degli ultimi anni. Dal ritratto
intimo di una relazione rovesciata “sottosopra”
fra madre e figlio nel documentario “ArsyVersy”, ad una precisa interpretazione della
propria cultura nel documentario “No Closet
Issue”. Dalla fuga nel mondo animato di
“Viliam”, all’esplorazione della vera natura
umana nell’animazione/live action “The Last
Bus”, al loop narrativo di “X=X+1”. I film
di questa retrospettiva introducono la nuova
generazione del panorama cinematografico
slovacco, che siamo felici di potervi presentare.

/ The Slovak Eurovision Program presents
five recent award-winning Slovak short films.
From an intimate survey of an “upside-down”
relationship between a mother and a son in the
documentary “Arsy-Versy”, through a specific
interpretation of a culture in the documentary
“No Closet Issue”, hiding inside an animated
world in “Viliam”, exploration of the true
nature of humans in the combined live-action
animation “The Last Bus”, to the cyclically
leveled up story of “X=X+1”. All the films in
this retrospective program present the new
generation in Slovak short film production,
that we are glad to present.

Slovenian short films has the goal of presenting
some of our latest aesthetic and productive
trends. A section of the festival is dedicated
to the new generation of animation directors:
Špela Cadež and his “Boles”, multi-award
winning in major international film festivals,

of “Wanted”. The same visibility is given to
the talent of some students of the Ljubljana

e vuole offrire una versatile visione d’insieme
della mia filmografia. Non definirei la maggior
parte dei miei film come “realistici”. Direi
piuttosto bizzarri, folli o perfino surreali.
Mi piace pensare ai miei cortometraggi
come ad una galassia a sé stante. “Renewing
Mikael”, il mio preferito, è in coda alla
selezione, che si apre invece con un altro film
a cui sono molto legato, “Peto” (Premio del
Pubblico Lago Film Fest 2012).

The films are chosen to be a versatile overview
of my filmography. I don’t feel most of my
directions are so called “realistic films”; most
of them are a bit bizarre, crazy or even surreal.
So I really like the idea that my short films
would form some kind of a universe of their
own. I included my personal favorite “Renewing
Mikael” as the last film, and another favorite of
mine, “Peto” (Lago Film Fest Audience Award
2012), as the first.

«Pateticamente, a chi cerca informazioni,
dico che mi definirei ri-autore (di tutto e di
nulla). Poi, sempre per gioco, dirò che (più
di tutte le cose e i giochi che inanemente e
automaticamente mi aiutano o mi ingiungono
di anagrammare il mondo e tutti i mondi) mi
infiamma (ma non ancora mi sazia) esser stato
(presto o tardi fallito il sogno anarcomunitario)
un ridicolo resistente scomodo “motore
immobile” (grazie al quale programmi come
Schegge FuoriOrario Blob si son “potuti fare”.
Solo (?!?) questo, di 25 anni di programmi,
il fantasma che sono (di Uomo che non volle
farsi autore né mai programmare) potrebbe
rivendicare con fierezza. [...] Mi è accaduto di
montare (dopo i primi dieci giorni di “prove”
e dopo la prima settimana di messa in onda,
col mitico inizio fatto da me e da cirogiorgini)
tra centocinquanta e duecento blob, con
cadenza settimanale e poi progressivamente
rarefatta. Anche se ci fu – anni dopo – un
mese di frequenza quotidiana subito dopo
l’11 settembre dell’attacco alle Twin Towers,
quando fui “comandato” alla presenza continua.
[...] La pena comminatami mi eccitò in effetto
di un entusiasmo quasi cinico: ero condannato
a fare quel che in televisione (e alla radio,
e al cinema) mi piaceva più ingenuamente
e genuinamente, esercitare col massimo di
evidenza il gioco di montare e smontare
macchine e meccanismi di immagine. [...] Per
quanto mi riguardava, si trattava, pur esibendo
una valenza (credo) sincera di critica dura alla
società dello spettacolo, di assumere in essa
un ruolo di “sovrintendenza” alla funzione e
finzione della fase culminante dello spettacolo.
[...] Naturalmente, l’abbandonarsi all’hybris
e al godimento del montaggio permanente,
allo scartarsi e riincartarsi del mazzo, [...] è
un piacere illusorio, un perpetuarsi di antiche
pratiche retoriche e di credenze “artistiche” e
di ideologie d’autore. [...] Pur ammirando
– proprio nella sua stessa tenera e spesso onesta
“vanità” – la vanità autoriale diffusa che ogni
blob può indurre, sono arrivato da troppo poco
a “vivere” la situazione del giocolavoro con la
magnifica ossessione delle immagini. [...]»

/ “Blob a Venezia” è l’insieme dei montati
negli anni da tutta la redazione.
Ovviamente negli anni c’è stata un’evoluzione.
Si parte da un montaggio del quotidiano
contaminato dai film presentati in
quell’edizione del Festival e/o altri film ed
altre immagini a questi liberamente associate,
per approdare ai pedinamenti: prima di Pino
Roggero e poi di Fabio Masi.

«Patethically, my answer to those who seek
information is that I’d define myself a
re-author (of everything and nothing). Then,
still for fun, I’ll say that, more than all the
games and things that automatically and vainly
help me or impose me to form an anagram of
the world, of all worlds, what still ignites me
(but doesn’t yet satisfy me) is the knowledge
of having been, with the anarcomunitarian
dream having faded soon enough, a ridiculous,
resisting, thorny “unmoved mover” thanks to
whom shows such as Schegge, FuoriOrario
Blob “could” be made. Out of 25 years of TV
programs, only (?!?) this could proudly be
claimed by the ghost that I am (the ghost of a
Man that never wanted to become an author,
nor to program). […] I happened to edit (after
the first ten days of “rehearsals” and the first
week on air, with the famous opening made
by cirogiorgini and me) something between
one hundred and fifty and two hundred blob,
on a weekly basis that over time has become
increasingly rarified. In spite of this, there was
– years later – a month of daily frequency in
the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attack to
the Twin Towers, when I was “sworn” to
continuous presence. […] This inflicted
measure in fact filled me with a near cynical
enthusiasm: I was condemned to do what I
most naively and genuinely liked-namely,
to exercise with utmost evidence the game
of doing and undoing the inner workings of
images. […] Although we carried out a harsh
– and yet, I think, sincere – form of criticism
to the society of spectacle, as far as I was
concerned, it was more a case of “supervising”
the function and fiction of the culminating
phase of showbiz. […] Of course, abandoning
oneself to the hubris and enjoyment of the
permanent montage, of the shuffling and
reshuffling of the deck […] is an illusory
pleasure, a renewal of ancient rhetorical
devices, of “artistic” beliefs and authorial
ideologies. […] Though admiring – precisely
in its own tender and often honest “vanity” –
the diffused authorial vanity that each blob
can induce, it hasn’t been long since I too have
been able to “inhabit” the workplay situation
with the maginificent obsession of images. […]»
/ “Blob a Venezia” is the sum of all the clips
edited by the Blob team over the years.
With time, an evolution has naturally taken
place. Starting with clips in which daily images
are mixed with the films presented at the
festival of that year and/or other films and
images in free associations, we then get to the
“tailings”, first done by Pino Roggero and then
by Fabio Masi.

di Fabio Masi
/ Il film documentario descrive e riscrive
in 60' persone e personaggi che hanno
attraversato gli ultimi dieci anni della Mostra
del Cinema di Venezia. L’Occhio di Blob
ritrae tra feste allucinanti, proteste sfavillanti
e sequenze inquietanti gli ambiti pellegrinaggi
sopra e sotto il Red Carpet. Le voci e i
pensieri di Pier Paolo Pasolini e Federico
Fellini risuonano profeticamente nello spartito
del film. Il regista Fabio Masi, autore delle
riprese, ha arricchito di materiale inedito
il documentario, rispolverando l’immenso
archivio di Blob a Venezia.

voices resound prophetically in the film score.

e una a Londra, siamo 3 bellissimi ragazzi
(secondo le nostre mamme) e amiamo le grandi
idee e i colpi di scena inaspettati. Navighiamo
in rete ed esploriamo vie di comunicazione
rischiose. Siamo metà pirati e metà registi.
Zero perché il mondo è finito e non ce ne
siamo accorti. Perché è finita la nostra
fiducia nei confronti di qualsiasi istituzione,
di qualsiasi forma di rappresentazione, di
qualsiasi senso che voglia dirsi unico, atavico,
assoluto, definitivo. Zero perché i soldi sono
finiti. Da un pezzo. E noi di soldi nostri non ne
abbiamo mai avuti. Zero perché quando sono
cadute le maschere delle mille opportunità
che doveva darci il terzo millennio, ci siamo
ritrovati senza scelta. Spalle al muro. Zero che
è la metà di un codice binario, nostra essenza
linguistica. Zero come il coraggio, come la
paura, come la rabbia, come la vendetta e
come la pace. Zero come ieri, oggi e domani.

/ “Milano Underground” è una web-series
sviluppata, come il titolo suggerisce, sulla
narrazione di storie di vita quotidiana nei
sotterranei di una metropoli: Milano. Ogni
episodio è autoconclusivo, ma la coerenza della
serie è assicurata da un unico dogma stilistico.
Le storie si intrecciano tra di loro come le linee
della metropolitana stessa, narrando tanto le
vite dei singoli protagonisti, quanto il contesto
sociale e urbano che li ospita.

/ As suggested by its title, “Milano
Underground” is a web-series that centres
upon everyday life stories set underground,
in a metropolis: Milan. Each episode is selfcontained, but a unique stylistic device ensures
some cohesion: the different plot strands
intertwine as underground lines do, portraying
both the characters’ lives and the social and
urban context that they inhabit.

/ Giulio Vita (1988), italiano cresciuto
IT
in Venezuela. Ha studiato giornalismo in
Venezuela, cinema in Spagna e ha poi deciso
di ritornare alle sue radici meridionali per
riportare il cinema alla gente e la gente al
cinema. Fonda così La Guarimba, il primo
festival di cortometraggi calabrese dai
tappeti verdi anziché rossi, che preferisce la
meritocrazia agli accordi politici. Attraverso
comunicazione efficace e coinvolgimento
sociale, insieme agli altri guarimberos, Giulio
ha creato un festival senza fondi pubblici,

Amantea, non per scandali mafiosi ma per un
progetto socio-culturale di successo. A questa
X edizione del LFF Giulio e La Guarimba
proporranno “About The Resistance”: un
documentario diretto da Pablo Cristobal
e Alicia V. Palacios Thomas (Spagna) che
racconta la storia del festival e analizza il
cinema come atto di resistenza, attraverso le
interviste ai personaggi della prima edizione de
La Guarimba.
/ Giulio Vita (1988), an Italian guy grown
up in Venezuela. He studied journalism in
Venezuela, cinema in Spain, and then he
decided to rediscover his southern roots. His
aim was to bring back cinema to people and
people to cinema, for which he founded La
Guarimba. It’s the first short film festival in
Calabria, which prefers green carpets to red
ones and meritocracy to politic agreements.
Concretising communication and social
involvement theories, Giulio managed to create
a festival with no public funds. La Guarimba
attracts people from all over the world and let
Amantea – his little town – making famous
not because of Mafia scandals but thanks to a
successful socio-cultural project. At the 10th
LFF Giulio and La Guarimba Indipendent
Short Film Festival will present “About The
Resistance”, a documentary directed by Pablo
Cristobal and Alicia V. Palacios Thomas
(Spain). It tells the story of the festival in
Calabria and analyses cinema as an act of
resistance, interviewing characters that were
part of the first edition of La Guarimba.

di Berlino, dove i due hanno dato vita a un
insolito derby “mondiale” contro una squadra
tedesca, questa volta la coppia “scoppierà”
per sfidarsi, proiettata in gigante sul muro di
un edificio, davanti al pubblico del LFF nella
serata inaugurale. Quale sarà la rana migliore?

/ Sara Fratini (Venezuela) ha iniziato a

dipingere con i piedi all’età di 3 anni. Dopo
aver visto lo scarso risultato, ha deciso di
provare con le mani. Venezuelana laureata
a Madrid e in Francia, vive in Italia da due
anni dove porta avanti il progetto online “Dias
Raros” in cui disegna sopratutto donne con
corpi naturali e libere. Fa murales, talk su arte
e social, e gira con Filomena, il suo disegno/
compagna di viaggio.
/ Sara Fratini (Venezuela) started to draw
with her feet when she was 3 years old. After
seeing the poor outcome, she decided to try
with her hands. From Venezuela, graduated
in Madrid and in France, she’s been living in
Italy for two years, where she is conducting
the online project “Dias Raros” in which she
mainly draws free women with natural bodies.
She makes murals, gives talks on art and
social, and travels with Filomena, her drawing/
travel companion.

/ An informal group of performers,
playwrights, directors, set designers, musicians,
videomakers, dancers, they come together
to mix up their sensitivities and contaminate
their ideas, creating projects that represent
nothing less than the passion for art and the
spontaneity of sharing. For the 10th edition of
Lago Film Fest, they will be presenting Loop.
A mouth wearing red lipstick, a personal god
that controls every character. A video-game
where performers repeat small everyday
gestures. Some are aware of it, some aren’t.
Loop, a game on how much we are controlled,
how we enjoy it, how we’d like to break the
mould, how our desire for self-display takes a
lot of effort.
OPEN SPACE DANCE PROJECT

Lonely” si concentra sul rapporto tra

/ Dance and Health with Parkinson Project
è un progetto del Comune di Bassano del
Grappa, realizzato in collaborazione con
Azienda Sanitaria ULSS 3, CPV Centro
Produttività Veneto e Dance for Health
Foundation (Olanda). Il progetto, cofinanziato
dal Fondo Sociale Europeo, è opera di
Elisabetta Cortella e Valentina Nicoli. Frutto
di un percorso formativo terminato ad aprile
2014 e durato sei mesi, il progetto ha coinvolto
11 persone tra danzatori e professionisti
della danza contemporanea, che attraverso
questa esperienza hanno potuto acquisire il
metodo del centro olandese, con l’obiettivo di
continuare la pratica a beneficio dei malati di
Parkinson nel territorio Veneto.

Centre and Dance for Health Foundation (NL).
This project, co-funded by European Social
Fund, is a work by Elisabetta Cortella and
Valentina Nicoli. It is the result of a formative
process six months long project that ended in
April 2014. The project involved 11 experts
among dancers and contemporary dance
professionals, that learned the Dutch Centre
method through this experience. The aim is
to carry on with this method giving benefit to
people suffering from Parkinson’s disease in the
Veneto region.

che interroga il desiderio, muove con fluidità
e abita delicatamente le immagini di ciò che
desidera. Il corpo desiderante porta i tratti
di una sposa dal volto rivestito di ricami. Lo
spettatore è parte integrante di questa danza
rituale del desiderio, e ne restituisce la poesia,
breve frammento che si rivela nell’ordinario.
/ “Is This Desire?”, a project by Francesca
Cola, shows the dance of a body questioning
desire, moving fluidly and kindly inhabiting
the images of its desires. The desiring body
has the bride, whose face is hidden by
embroideries. The audience takes active part
in this ritual dance of desire, reflecting its
enchantment, a thin fragment which reveals
itself in the ordinary.

L’interazione con alcune strutture genera,

tramite contemporaneità e contingenza creano
a loro volta nuovi scenari di sperimentazione e

Gli spazi del festival nel loro insieme diventano
cattedrale senza mura, in cui atmosfera
e contenuto catalizzano l’allontanamento
dalla realtà ordinaria in favore di una nuova
percezione e cognizione empirica.

poems and melodies that allow an escape from
reality.
Arcadia is an ideal place by appearance
and content, a place of natural beauty and
inspiration.
Atelier FraSe creates mechanical, natural
and animal forms blending with the urban
environment, acting on and interacting with
spaces and visitors.
The interaction with some structures generates
in fact, simple sound and visual effects, and
through contemporaneity and contingency,
creates new scenarios of experimentation and
experience.
The whole festival space becomes a cathedral
without walls, in which atmosphere and
content catalyse the distancing from the
ordinary reality in order to generate a new
perception and empirical cognition.

Bistrot che il festival ospiterà saranno diverse:
dalla condivisione degli spazi conviviali agli

che il cibo rappresenta.

video esistono e quanto ci influenzano? La
risposta a tutti questi quesiti è una sola, Video
Now. The Motion Picture, il laboratorio
sulle immagini al Lago Film Fest, continua
la sua analisi passando dal lungometraggio
e cortometraggio all’universo video. In tre
incontri cercheremo di delineare il panorama
espressivo di questo mezzo, di capire quanto
condizioni la nostra vita e in che forme si può
sviluppare nell’immediato futuro.

Lago Film Fest will host several Lago Bistrot
initiatives, from sharing the convivial spaces
to street food interventions, without ever
forgetting the truly “social” value represented
by food.
/ In order to narrate the 10th edition of the
Lago Film Fest through original, innovative
and spontaneous point of views, the ambitious
project DICIOTTOCCHI returns for the 5th
consecutive year. Photographers, illustrators,
graphic designers, videomakers and creative
artists: 9 independent and brave points of
view will live the festival from dawn to dusk,
sharing ideas, experiences and the produced
material thanks Lago Film Fest and Oxydo
social media. There will be a collective telling
of the festival with high emotional content: a
visionary wave that will reach you, wherever
you are.

/ The festival is not a one-off, ten days
long event, but is rather made of a team that
constantly seeks new challenges, creating new
projects and establishing relations with more
or less conventional spaces and heterogeneous
audiences.
This year, we went inside the juvenile
correctional institute and the Treviso district
prison, starting an experiment that garnered
much praise from the community and that
we hope will be happening again in the years
to come. We brought a selection of the best
films presented during the latest editions of the
festival, finding a jury composed of curious,
attentive individuals who selected they own
best film.

Video Art, viral video, commercial video,
video recording, video reports, video mapping,
video upload, video visualizations, music
videos and commercials. How many videos
are there and how much do they influence us?
The answer to all these questions is one, Video
Now. The Motion Picture, the image workshop
at Lago Film Fest, continues its analysis passing
from the feature film and the short film to the
video universe. During three meetings we will
try to define the expressiveness of video,
to understand how much it influences our life
and in what forms it can be developed in the
near future.

/ Perché ad un’azienda converrebbe fare

cinema? Si possono raccontare identità, visioni,
valori e prodotti come si racconterebbe una
bella storia (ovvero: meno pubblicità, meno
blabla, più storytelling)? Ci sono, in azienda,
interstizi – materiali o immaginari –
da cui far germinare in modo autentico dei
buoni racconti per lo schermo? Proviamo
a rispondere insieme a queste domande,
guardando all’esperienza di aziende che si
sono mosse in questa direzione e cimentandoci
nell’esercizio mentale di non pronunciare
mai l’espressione “product placement”.
Ma soprattutto, partendo da tre postulati
fondamentali:
I - c’è una storia da raccontare anche dove non
te lo aspetti;
II - se non la racconti, non esiste;
III - se la racconti con il linguaggio e con i
mezzi (sempre più accessibili) del cinema, è
anche meglio.

/ Why would filmmaking be suitable for a
brand? Could identities, visions, values and
products be narrated as you would tell a story
(i.e. less commercials, less blah blah, more
storytelling)? Within a brand, are there gaps
– actual or imaginary – that could originate
screen-worthy stories? Together, we try to
answer these questions by looking at brands
that have already moved in this direction; also,
as a mental exercise, we ban the expression
“product placement”. Most importantly, we
abide by these fundamental premises:
I - there’s a story to be told even when you
don't expect there to be one at all;
II - if you don’t tell the story, it doesn’t exist;
III - if you tell the story through the cinematic
language and its increasingly accessible
technologies, that’s even better.

femminile forse più misteriosa del cinema
italiano. Definita dalla critica inglese “FemaleChaplin” e identificata dallo stesso Charlot con

the most”. Sposata con il più famoso regista del
mondo, ha conquistato sotto la sua direzione
due premi Oscar, con “La Strada” (1954) e
“Le Notti di Cabiria” (1957), diventando
un’icona universale. Se su Fellini si sono
riversati fiumi di inchiostro, di Giulietta Masina

mysterious actress in Italian cinema, dubbed
as a “female Chaplin” by the British critics
and praised by Charlot himself. Married to
the world’s most famous cineaste, she won
two Oscars under his direction, for “La
Strada” (1954) and “Nights of Cabiria” (1957),
becoming an international icon.
If much has been written about Fellini, we
know almost nothing about Giulietta Masina.
Author Gianfranco Angelucci slipped inside
the gap between the face and the mask, the
person and the character, and will be giving us
a sneak peek here, at the 10th edition of Lago
Film Fest.

/ C’è chi cerca un’alternativa al normale
processo produttivo, chi non ha trovato spazio
altrove, chi ha un messaggio forte e sentito
che vuole veicolare, chi ha soldi, chi soldi non
ne ha, chi semplicemente ha molto tempo da
perdere, chi approfitta e chi sfrutta, chi gioca
e chi lavora.
La democratizzazione del mezzo e la
percezione del web come spazio infinto ha
amplificato “l’urgenza” della racconto in
chiunque. A prescindere dal senso, la salienza,
le idee e il contenuto. Ma non per tutti è
davvero così.
“Dov’è finita la mia idea?” non vuol essere
un salottino a base di lessico caleidoscopico e
riflessioni nuovissime [però tutte già fatte]. Non
c’è un unico ambito tematico, una misurazione
artistica o un contatore di click. Cercheremo
di rileggere insieme alcuni casi interessanti di
“utenti” che hanno saputo utilizzare il video
per veicolare un messaggio in maniera efficace.
Promozionale, sociale, educativo, ludico,
narrativo, goliardico, eccentrico: un messaggio.

any other space, some have a strong, heartfelt
message they want to send out, some have
money, some have none, some simply have
lots of time to waste, some take advantage and
some exploit, some play and some work.
The democratisation of media and the
perception of the web as an infinite space
has amplified the urge of storytelling within
everyone, regardless of meaning, relevance,
ideas and content. But it’s not the same for
everyone.
“Where did my idea go?” does not want to
be a salon of kaleidoscopic lexicon and supernew [and yet, pre-made] reflections. There is
not a single thematic context, nor an artistic
measure, nor a click counter. Together, we will
try to re-read some interesting cases of “users”
that were able to utilise the video format to
convey a message effectively. Promotional,
social, educational, playful, narrative,
irreverent, eccentric: a message.
Sitting at a virtual roundtable, we will hear
stories from: Carlo Gabardini (viral video

web series about non-profit in Italy),
Giovanni Esposito (web series “Milano

Il cinema di animazione, nella sua forma
artisticamente più alta quale è il cortometraggio,
si avvale di un rapporto del tutto particolare
ed unico con la colonna sonora radicalmente
diverso da quello che si sviluppa nel cinema
dal vero. I suoni nel cortometraggio animato
devono essere creati dal nulla, perché
l’animazione nasce muta, disegnata o ripresa
fotogramma per fotogramma. Ma cosa nasce
prima? L’immagine animata o il suono
organizzato? Nell’animazione tutto è possibile:
non esistono regole prefissate e il ventaglio
di possibilità è quasi infinito.

Animated cinema, in its highest artistic form
– the short film –, has a very particular and
unique relationship with the soundtrack that
is completely different from what happens in
live action. The sound on animated short must
be created from scratch, because animation
is born mute, drawn or filmed frame by
frame. But which one was born first? The
animated image or the organised sound?
Since anything is possible in animation, there
are no predetermined rules and the range of
possibilities is almost infinite.

/ Joonas Makkonen è nato il 13 maggio 1986 a
Vieremä, in Finlandia. Filmmaker indipendente,
attualmente vive nella regione finlandese di Lapland. Il
lungometraggio con cui Joonas ha debuttato, “Bunny
the Killer Thing”, è ora in post-produzione.
Si tratta di una commedia horror finlandese che
parla di una creatura per metà uomo e per metà
coniglio. Dal film sarà tratto un adattamento teatrale,
previsto per il 2015, con l’obiettivo di lanciarlo sul
mercato internazionale. Molti dei cortometraggi
diretti da Joonas, come “Peto”, “Renewing Mikael”,
“Quiet You”, “Case Rabbit”, “Under Age” e “The
Escort”, hanno ricevuto premi e riconoscimenti.
Joonas è un filmmaker dalle vedute molto ampie e
ama sperimentare diversi generi cinematografici. Ha
realizzato anche spot televisivi per la regione Lapland.

a fine corteo il discorso di chiusura.

RODOLFO SONEGO
/ Ho conosciuto Rodolfo Sonego nel gennaio del
1990. Il mio amico Dardano Sacchetti, sceneggiatore
cult di film horror, mi aveva detto che Sonego stava
preparando una serie di gialli per Rai Uno e aveva
bisogno di collaboratori. Mi presentai a casa sua con
la faccia tosta dell’incoscienza e sottobraccio un
pacco di racconti, soggetti e sceneggiature. Rodolfo
mi aprì la porta con un sorriso simpatico, tenendo
in mano la macchinetta del caffè e mi accolse come
si accoglie un amico, con disinvoltura: «Vieni,
vieni… vuoi un caffè?» Seduti in salotto c’erano un
produttore, un regista e due sceneggiatori. Smisero
subito di discutere e tutti concentrarono l’attenzione
su di me. Sonego cominciò a farmi delle domande e
io, con un certo imbarazzo, gli dissi chi ero, da dove
venivo, chi mi aveva dato il suo numero… Quando mi
chiese che cosa avevo scritto, tirai fuori il pacco di
roba che avevo portato e che fino a quel momento
avevo cercato di nascondere tra i cuscini del divano
e dissi… «Beh, ecco… ho scritto questi.» Mentre
tutti ridevano della mia ingenuità e io avvampavo
di vergogna, Rodolfo, fissandomi coi suoi occhi di
cristallo, prese i miei soggetti, i miei racconti, e disse
che li avrebbe letti senz’altro. Pensavo che non l’avrei
mai più rivisto, invece siamo diventati grandi amici e
abbiamo lavorato insieme per dieci anni. Fino alla fine.

Quando Viviana Carlet mi ha proposto di collaborare
con il “Premio Sonego”, Rodolfo era morto da
otto anni. Ho accettato con entusiasmo perché
ho pensato che poteva essere un buon modo per
rendere omaggio ad uno dei più grandi sceneggiatori
del cinema italiano, troppo presto dimenticato e,
soprattutto, l’occasione per farlo conoscere a
chi ancora non lo conosceva. Del resto, a parte
gli addetti ai lavori e qualche cinefilo incallito, ben
pochi conoscono i nomi degli sceneggiatori e Rodolfo
Sonego, uno dei principali artefici della commedia
all’italiana, acuto e intelligente narratore dell’Italia
del dopoguerra e del boom economico, nonostante
l’indiscussa fama del suo alter-ego, Alberto Sordi,
non fa eccezione. Mi sono dedicato al Premio Sonego
con passione, anno dopo anno, cercando di farlo
crescere, di farlo diventare un punto di riferimento
per i giovani autori e renderlo sempre più degno del
nome che porta. È un progetto ambizioso. Ci vuole
tempo, siamo ancora lontani dalla meta, ma finora è
una scommessa vinta. Nel corso delle varie edizioni,
infatti, il numero delle opere presentate è sempre
aumentato e, soprattutto, è aumentata la qualità.
La migliore delle edizioni è quella che si deve ancora
svolgere. Cioè quella che sta per partire. Almeno fino
all’anno prossimo.
/ I met Rodolfo Sonego in January 1990. My friend
Dardano Sacchetti, a cult screenwriter of horror
movies, told me that Sonego was writing a series of
thrillers for Rai Uno and he needed collaborators. I
had the nerve to show up at his front door carrying
a pile of stories, scripts and screenplays. Rodolfo
opened the door with a nice smile, holding the
coffeemaker, and he welcomed me as one of his
friends, with nonchalance: «Come in, come in…
do you want a coffee?» There were a producer, a
director and two screenwriters sitting in the living
room. They all immediately stopped talking and they
all focused their attention on me. Sonego started
asking me questions and I was very embarrassed and
told him who I was, where I was from, who gave me
his number… When he asked me what I had written,
I took out the pile of stuff that I had brought and that
until that moment I had been trying to hide between

the sofa pillows and said... «Well, this is what I
wrote» While everyone was laughing at my naïveté
and I was blushing from embarrassment, Rodolfo,
staring at me with his crystal eyes, took my scripts,
my stories, and said that he would certainly read
them. I thought I would never see him again, instead
we became good friends and we worked together for
ten years. Until the end.
When Viviana Carlet suggested that I collaborate with
the “Sonego Prize”, Rodolfo had been dead for eight
years. I accepted with great enthusiasm because I
thought that this could be a great way to honour one
of the greatest screenwriters of Italian cinema, too
soon forgotten and, especially, the occasion to make
him known to those who don’t know him. Moreover,
aside from those in the industry and some devoted
movie fans, only few people know the screenwriters
names and Rodolfo Sonego, one of the main authors
of the commedia all’italiana, a sharp and intelligent
narrator of the postwar economic boom of Italy,
despite the undisputed fame of his alter ego, Alberto
Sordi, is no exception. I dedicated myself to the
Sonego Prize with passion, year after year, trying to
make it grow, make it become a point of reference
for young authors and make it worthy of its name.
It’s an ambitious project. It takes time, we are still
far from the goal, but so far it’s a victory. During
the various editions the amount of submissions has
always increased and, more than anything, the quality
has increased. The best edition is the one that has yet
to happen, that is, the one that's about to begin. At
least until next year.

/ Gianfranco Angelucci è uno scrittore, regista,
giornalista e docente di Accademia che vive a Roma
e alterna l’attività letteraria a quella cinematografica.
Amico e collaboratore di Federico Fellini fin dalla tesi
di laurea discussa all’Università di Bologna sull’opera
del Maestro, ha curato vari volumi sulla sua
produzione artistica: “Amarcord”, “Casanova”, “E la
nave va”, “Ginger e Fred”, “Block notes di un regista”;
oltre ai libri fotografici “La Dolce Vita” e “Un regista
a Cinecittà”. Nel 1987 ha firmato la sceneggiatura del
film “Intervista”, Premio speciale della giuria a Cannes
e Primo Premio al Festival di Mosca. Tra il 1997 e il
2000 ha diretto l'Associazione “Fondazione Federico
Fellini” di Rimini. Per la narrativa ha pubblicato
“L’amore in corpo” (Sperling & Kupfer), “Federico F.”
(Avagliano Editore), “Tra un anno al Caffè della Plaka”
(Abramo Editore), “Segreti e bugie di Federico Fellini”

Born in Montefeltro, but raised in Riccione, he
attended the DAMS (Faculty of the Performing
Arts) in Bologna and the School of Journalism of the
University of Urbino. He published his first story at the
age of 17 and he put on his first play at the age of 23.
Following his passion for cinema, at the end of 1989
he moved to Rome, where he met Rodolfo Sonego,
becaming his friend, student and collaborator. With
Sonego, in 10 years, he wrote, among other things,
various television series for Rai Uno and Rai Due and
collaborated to the screenplay of his last movie: “Il
quaderno della spesa”, directed by Tonino Cervi and
with Gabriele Lavia. From the end of the ‘90s he wrote
hundreds of episodes of many serials like “Vivere”,
“Incantesimo”, “Sottocasa” and “Agrodolce”. Lately,
in addition to writing for cinema (in 2010 the movie
“Coppia da sballo” obtained a national grant and the
cultural interest recognition), he teaches a theater
course attended by children.

/ Mirco Melanco (1959) teaches Cinema,
Photography and Television. He teaches
“Documentary film studies” at DAMS (Faculty of the
Performing Arts) and “Screenwriting: History and
Theory” at the postgraduate course in Performing
arts and multimedia productions. Since 1992 he is
also in charge of the “Word processing workshop”,
nowadays pertaining to the Department of Cultural
Heritage of the University of Padua. He is an essayist
of cinema history and criticism, but he also wrote four
monographs and more than fifty essays on books and
magazines, international too. He also directed various
documentaries (his last one, “La montagna infranta”
of 2013 won a prize at the Timelinefilmfest of Carate
Brianza), video essays and video installations.
He collaborates with television and radio programs
that talk about cinema.

un’esigenza quella di scrivere storie, che sentivo già

Gaudioso – nell’ultima delicata fase di revisione
degli script. La giuria di professionisti composta
da Marco Maccaferri, Manlio Piva, Rita Di Santo
ed Emilio Bolles ha infine proclamato il vincitore:
Tommaso Sacchini, con la sua sceneggiatura “Il
Rappresentante”. E questa storia ha avuto un
seguito: grazie al contributo di 2000€ previsto
dal Premio e finalizzato alla realizzazione della
sceneggiatura in un film, Tommaso è riuscito a dare
vita alla sua storia in una cortometraggio, che siamo
orgogliosi di poter presentare a questa X edizione
del festival.

VINCITORE “PREMIO RODOLFO SONEGO” 2013
/ The past edition of the Rodolfo Sonego Prize
saw 95 screenwriters taking part in the competition
bearing the name of the great author. Only 9 of them
made it to the final and had the chance to collaborate
with three exceptional tutors – Silvia Napolitano,
Antonello Rinaldi and Massimo Gaudioso – for the
last delicate phase of script revision. A professional
jury, composed by Marco Maccaferri, Manlio Piva,
Rita Di Santo and Emilio Bolles then proclaimed
Tommaso Sacchini as the winner, with his screenplay
“Il Rappresentante”. And this story has a sequel:
thanks to the 2000€ Prize’s contribution for the
realisation of the film based on the winning script,
Tommaso was able to turn his screenplay into an
actual short, which we are proud to present at the
festival’s 10th edition.

/ «Non esiste nulla di buono o cattivo al mondo, se
non il pensiero che lo fa tale».
In queste parole, di Shakespeare è racchiuso il
messaggio de “Il Rappresentante”. Il cortometraggio
è innanzitutto un omaggio alla commedia all’italiana,
ma anche un’opera volta a far riflettere sul modo
in cui viviamo i problemi e gli imprevisti che ci
capitano nella vita e che spesso prendiamo in
maniera negativa. Una sceneggiatura che non
avrebbe mai visto la luce senza l’opportunità
offerta dal Lago Film Fest, che ha reso un premio
letterario un vero e proprio laboratorio artistico
dove, una volta selezionato, si riceve l’assistenza di
uno sceneggiatore professionista. Grazie a questo
sostegno sono cresciuto molto come scrittore
in quanto più che ricevere correzioni specifiche
sono stato stimolato a sviluppare la mia capacità
osservativa e critica verso quanto ho scritto. Inoltre,
grazie al Premio Rodolfo Sonego, ho potuto far
prendere vita alla sceneggiatura trasformandola in
un film e in un’esperienza fondamentale.

These words by Shakespeare contain the message
of “Il Rappresentante”. The short film is first of all an
homage to the commedia all’italiana, but also a play
aimed at making us reflect on the way we deal with
problems and unexpected events that happen to us
in life and that we often take in a negative way.
A screenplay that would have not seen the light
without the opportunity offered by Lago Film Fest
that transformed a literature award into a real
artistic workshop where, once selected, you receive
the assistance of a professional screenwriter.
Thanks to this support I grew a lot as a writer
because, more than receiving specific corrections, I
have been encouraged to develop my observational
and critical ability towards what I wrote. Moreover,
thanks to the Rodolfo Sonego Prize, I was able to
bring the screenplay to life transforming it into a film
and a fundamental experience.
