SHORT WINTER SCHOOL ON NANO AND BIOTECHNOLOGY 27

SHORT WINTER SCHOOL ON NANO AND
BIOTECHNOLOGY
27 -28 January 2014 – Trieste, Italy
Objectives
The Joint Short Winter School on Nano- and Biotechnology presents two main topics in
nanoscience & biotechnology comprehensively addressing the fabrication,
characterization and modeling of interfacial materials and design and construction of
biological devices. Besides these topics the school aims at highlighting the potential
applications with a focus on engineering biology and medical biotechnology and on the
phenomena occurring in soft and hybrid organic-inorganic materials.
The approach is multi-disciplinary and lectures are tailored for a broad audience of PhD
students and young researchers active in different areas of the large domain of
nanotechnology and biotechnology.
Lectures
Lectures will be given in English. A partecipation certificate will be given to all
requesting attendees.
Organization
The Winter School is part of the Regional Graduate School Initiative sponsored by
Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia jointly organized by Università degli Studi di Trieste,
Università degli Studi di Udine and SISSA.
