The 2014 Convegno Nazionale (CN) of the Italian GBU is about to begin!
From Friday the 5th to Monday the 8th of December, 400 people will gather at Montesilvano
(Pescara) for the IX edition of this annual event. The CN is organized by the whole fellowship of
the evangelical student movement (GBU) affiliated with IFES since 1959.
Two keywords describe this event:
- Showcase.
Through the CN, GBU explains to the churches its ministry, summed up in the motto Sharing Jesus,
student to student. This is how GBU intends to handle the relationship with the local churches,
considering itself as the evangelistic arm of the church reaching to the university.
- Lookout (or vidette).
Through the CN, GBU stimulates and alerts the Italian churches to be aware of the spiritual and
intellectual challenges they must face towards ideas and world visions that the student groups
already encounter in their witness at the university.
We accomplish these goals with Bible teaching on a specific subject and with several activities
during the conference. This year's theme is: Love searched, Love lived, Love given.
It will be expanded in six sessions by pastor and author Gary Thomas (Houston, USA).
