ll Monte Piana o Monte Piano costituisce una delle più attraenti mete delle
Dolomiti grazie a uno spettacolare panorama a 360 gradi verso le più belle
cime del comprensorio ed è anche luogo di memoria e di storia delle tragiche
e crucialivicende del secolo scorso, dove persero la vita più di 14.000 soldati.
ll Museo storico all'aperto della lu Guerra Mondiale è una delle più importanti
testimonianze delle battaglie combattute tra queste montagne, costituito da
numer0se trincee, gallerie, postazioni militari ed altri reperti storici riportati
alla luce e risistemati grazie alla iniziale opera dei volontari "Amici delle Dolo-

La strada d'accesso di 5 km., ex-militare e ora riservata al servizio navetta,
parte da Misurina a m. 1756 e raggiunge ilRifugio Bosia m 2205.L0 shuttle la
percorre in 12 minuticirca. Da qui parte il percorso principale su sentiero facile
che conduce alle trincee e ai siti storici del Museo all'aperto della l, Guerra
Mondiale. La Cima Sud a m.2325è raggiungibile dal Rif. Bosi in circa 20 minuti di lieve salita. f itinerario in quota attraverso I'altopiano dura dalle 2 alle
4 ore. ll percorso extra in cengia è attrezzato con corda ferrata ed è consigliato
sola mente ad a I pi n isti esperti adeguata mente attrezzati.

Der Monte Piana ist einer der eindruckvollsten Berge der Dolomiten, dessen Gipfel-
Monte Piana is one of the most beautiful site to visit in the Dolomites, with its
plateau mit einer Hóhe von 2325m (Nordkuppe Monte Piano 2305m)einen atemberaubenden 360" Panoramablick auf Auronzo di Cadore, Cortina dîmpezzo,
spectacular 360 degrees view towards the most famous mountains of the
Dolomites. Monte Piana is also a site of memory and history of the World War
fought in this area. Here more then 14.000 soldiers died. Nowaday it's an engaging destination for whom that wants to visit the 0pen Air Museum of the
First World War, one of the most important witness of the war on the Alps. The
museum consists of trench warfares, tunnels and emplacements located on
the top of the mountain. The open air museum was realized thanks to the work
of the groups "Friends of the Dolomites", and "Friends of Piana - Elio Scarpa
Volunteers Group". The Natural Parks 0ffice of the South Tyrol Province and
the Comunità Montana Centro Cadore placed the system of identifyng signs

Das Freilichtmuseum Monte Piana ist riber einen Shuttle-Service erreichbar. Die
etwa viertelstúndige Fahrt beginnt in Misurina (Gemeinde Auronzo di Cadore) 1756 m HÒhe - und fùhrt bis zur Bosi-Hútte - 2205 m Hiihe - kurz unterhalb des

5 km Lànge 565 Hóhenmeter und ist fúr den óffentlichen Verkehr - wie auch fúr
Mountain Biker - gesperrt. Ab der Bosi-Hiitte beginnt der Rundweg des Freilichtmuseums, der úber den Gipfelbereich des Monte Piana zu den verschiedenen Stellungen des 1. Weltkriegs fúhrt. Die gesamte Begehung des Hochplateaus dauert
zwischen 2 und 4 Stunden. Der Steig des Freilichtmuseums ist ausgesetzt und
teilweise mit Seilsicherungen versehen. Nur fúr geiibte Wanderer.
Monte Piana is reached by the ex-military road, reserved to the shuttle service,
that goes from the Lake of Misurina - a|t.1756 m. / 5761 ft.- up to the Bosi
Refuge - alL2205 n.l 7234 ft. The Shuttle allows to reach the refuge in 12
minutes (5 km.). From the Bosi Refuge starts the main tour 0n easy path to the
0pen Air Museum of the First World War. About 20 minutes are needed to reach
the South-west summit a|2325 n.17628 ft. of altitude. The complete tour last
about from 2 up to 4 hours. The extra-tour on the ledge "via ferrata" is recommended only to experienced mountain climbers.
