No will, no way!
意思のないところに道はない
Last week, if you were with us, we spoke about how it was God’s will for Paul to be an Apostle.
We were also challenged to look at our own life and ask ourselves if we were living the Christian
life that God has willed for us?
But what is stopping us from living that life?
It may be our very own unwillingness!
先週、パウロが使徒であるのは、神のみこころによることだと話しました。そして、自分自身の
人生を振り返り、私たちは神が望んでくださっているようなクリスチャンの歩みをしているだろ
うかと考えさせられました。
もし、そうでないなら、何がそれを邪魔しているのでしょう。
もしかしたら、それは私たちにその気がないからではないでしょうか。
Let’s pray!
では、祈りましょう。
Colossians 1:1* ¶ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2* To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from
God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
コロサイ 1:1 神のみこころによる、キリスト・イエスの使徒パウロ、および兄弟テモテから、
コロサイ 1:2 コロサイにいる聖徒たちで、キリストにある忠実な兄弟たちへ。どうか、私たちの
父なる神から、恵みと平安があなたがたの上にありますように。
Notice who Paul is writing this letter to...
The saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse:
パウロはこの手紙を誰に宛てているでしょうか。
コロサイにいる聖徒たちで、キリストにある忠実な兄弟たちです。
First of all, who where these saints?
Well, we get a better idea of who they were by simply defining the word.
The original Greek word that has been translated saints in English and “seito” in Nihongo is the
word, hágios, which is actually the same Greek word for holy.
The fundamental (core) meaning of this word is "different"
まず、聖徒とはどんな人でしょう。
言葉の定義を見てみると、どんな人だったかわかってきます。
英語では「saints」、日本語では「聖徒」と訳されていますが、原語のギリシャ語では、「ハギ
オス」といって、ギリシャ語では「きよい」と同じ単語です。
基本的には、「違う」という意味です。
For example: a temple in the 1st century was hagios ("holy") because it was different from other
buildings.
例えば、一世紀の神殿は「ハギオス」（きよい）でした。それは、他の建造物と違っていたから
です。
Christians are ("Holy or Saints") because they are "different from the world"
クリスチャンは「きよい」または「聖徒」です、「世間と違う」からです。
The word (hágios) implies something that has been “separated”, "set apart" for God and therefore
it is "different” .
この「ハギオス」という単語は、何かが神のために「わけられた」「取っておかれた」ので、他
のものと違うことを示しています。

The minute we dedicated our life unto the Lord we became different didn’t we?
We did! We become saints, holy and separated onto the Lord.
私たちが主に人生をささげると、私たちは変わります。
私たちは聖徒となったのです。主のために取り置かれたきよい者とされたのです。
Now some of you are looking at me kind of funny...
Your probably thinking that you, or me, or the people around us don’t really seem very Holy or
Saintly!
Well, that me be true! But we are here aren’t we?
There is something different about us right here, right now isn’t there?
これを聞いて、いぶかしげな顔をしている人がいますね。
自分や周りの人を見ても、きよそうでも、聖徒らしくもあまりなさそうだと思っているからで
しょうか。
そうかもしれません。けれども、今ここにこうしているではありませか。
今ここにいること自体、私たちが何か違っているということではないでしょうか。
How many of your friends, co-workers, neigbors, like to come to church?
皆さんの友だちや同僚、近所の人で、教会に好んで行く人はいますか。
Ya, Joseph, okay... but I am still not convinced... that any of us are really that Holy or Saintly!
そうは言うけど、私たちがきよい聖徒だとはまだ納得できない、と思っていますか。
Well, what exactly are you expecting?
Little wings and Hailos?
None of us are perfect angels that’s for sure!
では、どういうことを期待しているのですか。
天使の輪と羽根があることですか。
もちろん、私たちは罪のない天使ではありません。
And where do you think we are? Heaven?
そして、天国に今いるわけでもありません。
The church is a place where the saints gather... this is true!
But the church is more like a hospital to help heal the saints from wounds they have received each
week from Satan, this world, and from our very own flesh!
教会は、聖徒の集まる所です。
ただし、教会は、サタンやこの世、そして私たち自身の肉によって傷ついた聖徒たちが癒される
ための病院のようなところです。
And the reality is...
if you ever find a perfect church... get out!
Because you just messed it up!
それに、
もし完璧な教会を見つけたら、出て行きなさい。
その完璧な状態をあなたが乱してしまうからです。
And I would mess it up even worse!
私が行ったら、めちゃくちゃになるでしょう。
Everyone of us would mess it up!
Why? Because we are all sinners!
誰が行っても、完璧な状態を乱してしまいます。
それは、私たちがみな罪人だからです。
There is no perfect church here on this earth!
この世に完璧な教会など存在しません。

Think about it... Are any of us perfect? No way!
But are we willing to be perfected?
That’s the Question!
考えてみてください。完璧な人はいますか。いません。
けれども、完成されることを望んでいますか。
そこが問題です。
Sure we have all messed up! We have all failed! We have all fallen short!
But are we willing to let God perfect us?
私たちはみな失敗して、堕落しています。
けれども、神が私たちを完成してくださることを望んでいますか。
If so... then as I mentioned last week.
もしそうなら・・・先週私が言ったように、
It doesn’t matter how bad we have messed it up our lives!
God is able to fix it up!
As long as we are (what) willing to give it up!
人生どれほど失敗したとしても、
神は軌道修正のできるお方です。
私たちが、神に明け渡す気があるならです。
Are we willing to give up our will and our way.
私たちは、自分の望みや自分のやり方を明け渡す気があるでしょうか。
Are we willing to let God have His way in our life today?
私たちは、人生の舵取りを神にお任せする気があるでしょうか。
If so! Than we can confidently say,
もしそうなら、確信を持ってこういうことができます。
“I am who I am by the Grace and will of God?”
「私は、神の恵みとみこころによって、今の私になりました。」
And once we are able to say that... we can be just as....
そして、そう言えるようになったなら、こうも言えるでしょう。
Philippians 1:6* being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will
complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
ピリピ 1:6 あなたがたのうちに良い働きを始められた方は、キリスト・イエスの日が来るまでに
それを完成させてくださることを私は堅く信じているのです。
The second God began that good work in our life! Was the second we became His saints, holy
and separated onto the Lord.
神が私たちの人生に良い働きを始められた瞬間から、私たちは神の聖徒であり、主のために聖別
された者なのです。
Colossians 1:1* ¶ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2* To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from
God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
コロサイ 1:1 神のみこころによる、キリスト・イエスの使徒パウロ、および兄弟テモテから、

コロサイ 1:2 コロサイにいる聖徒たちで、キリストにある忠実な兄弟たちへ。どうか、私たちの
父なる神から、恵みと平安があなたがたの上にありますように。
Notice the Faithful Brethren in Christ! Paul also addressed Timothy as a Brother as well in vs. 1.
キリストにある忠実な兄弟たち、とあります。また1節で、パウロはテモテのことも兄弟と呼んで
います。
Have you ever herd anyone in the church call each other a brother or a sister?
Why do Christians do that anyways?
教会の中で、人がお互いを兄弟とか姉妹とか呼び合っているのを聞いたことがありますか。
なぜクリスチャンはそんなことをするのでしょう。
It’s because God is our Father, and when we are born again, that is, when we have come to faith
in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We are born into the family of God.
それは、神が私たちの父であり、私たちが生まれ変わった時、それはイエス・キリストを主であ
り救い主として信じる信仰を持った時、私たちは神の家族の一員に加えられるからです。
We have been born again, and thus have this common relationship, we are brothers and sisters
together in Christ. And so, it was a term used throughout the new testament, and throughout the
world even today, to describe this family that is bound together by the grace of our Lord Jesus
Christ, by the love of our Father God in Heaven, and by the communion of the Holy Spirit within
our hearts.
私たちは新生を体験しました。ですから、神の家族に属し、キリストにあってともに兄弟姉妹な
のです。そういうわけで、新約聖書で使われた言葉であり、今日でも世界中で使われている言葉
です。これは、主イエス・キリストの恵み、天におられる父なる神の愛、そして内住の聖霊の交
わりによってひとつとなった家族をあらわしています。
Look around!
There aren’t to many places in this world that you will find such a wide range of nations gathering
together each week. Smiling at one another, greeting one another, loving one another, all the
while... not even really knowing one another or getting paid for it!
周りを見渡してください。
これほど多くの民族が毎週集まる場所は他にたくさんないでしょう。お互いのことをよく知って
いるわけでもなく、代金をもらっているわけでもないのに、笑顔で挨拶を交わし、互いに思いや
りを示します。
Why would we do this?
Because we are Christians!
Disciples of Jesus Christ...students of the Word of God.
私たちはなぜそうするのでしょう。
それは、クリスチャンだからです。
イエス・キリストの弟子、神のみことばの生徒だからです。
Jesus said,
イエスは言われました。
John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you,
that you also love one another.
ヨハネ 13:34 あなたがたに新しい戒めを与えましょう。互いに愛し合いなさい。わたしがあなた
がたを愛したように、あなたがたも互いに愛し合いなさい。
35 “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
ヨハネ 13:35 もし互いの間に愛があるなら、それによってあなたがたがわたしの弟子であること
を、すべての人が認めるのです。」

The apostle John said this....
1John 4:20* If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not
love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?
１ヨハネ 4:20 神を愛すると言いながら兄弟を憎んでいるなら、その人は偽り者です。目に見える
兄弟を愛していない者に、目に見えない神を愛することはできません。
1John 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his
brother also.
１ヨハネ 4:21 神を愛する者は、兄弟をも愛すべきです。私たちはこの命令をキリストから受けて
います。
You see these are the standards that make us Christians so different from this world.
We are called to love one another, as brothers, as sisters, as family!
私たちクリスチャンは、これらの基準によって、この世と一線を画すのです。
私たちは、兄弟姉妹のように、家族のように愛し合うよう召されています。
Notice this exhortation from the Apostle Peter...
使徒ペテロはこのように勧めています。
1Peter 3:8* Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as (What?)
brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
１ペテロ 3:8 最後に申します。あなたがたはみな、心を一つにし、同情し合い、兄弟愛を示し、
あわれみ深く、謙 でありなさい。
1Peter 3:9* not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing
that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
１ペテロ 3:9 悪をもって悪に報いず、侮辱をもって侮辱に報いず、かえって祝福を与えなさい。あ
なたがたは祝福を受け継ぐために召されたのだからです。
Did you know that it is a blessing to be a blessing to others?
人に祝福を与えられることが祝福だと知っていましたか。
Don’t take my word for it!
私の言葉を信用しないでください。
Take Gods Word for it!
神のみことばを信用してください。
If we begin to apply these truths to our life...
We will inherit blessings!
この真理を自分の人生に当てはめるなら、
私たちは祝福を受け継ぐでしょう。
What do we have to lose?
Do you think having compassion and love for others is so bad? (1Peter 3:8)
These aren’t bad things are they?
Being tenderhearted and courteous to others isn’t so hard is it?
No... it isn’t! We can do it! We can at least try!
そうすることで、失うものはあるでしょうか。
お互いに同情し合い、愛を示すことは悪いことでしょうか。（1ペテロ3：8）
悪いことではないでしょう。

あわれみ深く、謙遜であることはそんなに難しくないでしょう。
きっとできるはずです。すくなくとも、やってみましょう。
But what about not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessings???
(1Peter 3:9)
けれども、悪をもって悪に報いず、かえって祝福を与えなさい、というのはどうでしょう。（1ペ
テロ3：9）
Returning evil with a blessing?
When someone reviles us, when they criticize us in an angry, abusive, and insulting manner.
We are to bless them?
悪に対して、祝福を与える。
誰かが怒りや侮辱を込めて、私たちをののしったり、批判したりしたら、
その人たちを祝福しなさい、ということです。
That’s Crazy!
No WAY! Impossible! Muri!!!
そんな馬鹿な、
できるわけがないでしょう。
You know Jesus was once teaching about how one was to enter the kingdom of God.
And the things He was saying seemed just as crazy to them.
They even went as far as saying themselves, “If this is what it takes...,
あるとき、イエスは、人がどのようにして神の御国に入るか教えておられました。
イエスが言われたことは、聴衆にとってあまりにも極端に思えることばかりでした。
それで彼らは、思いました。「そんな人しか御国に入れないなら・・・」
Mark 10:26b “Who then can be saved?”
マルコ 10:26b「それでは、だれが救われることができるのだろうか。」
Mark 10:27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for
with God all things are possible.”
マルコ 10:27 イエスは、彼らをじっと見て言われた。「それは人にはできないことですが、神
は、そうではありません。どんなことでも、神にはできるのです。」
As difficult and impossible as it may seem to us!
All things are possible with God!
私たちにとって、困難で不可能に思えることも、
神にはできるのです。
Remember He is never going to instruct us to do anything in His Word that He Himself is not
willing to help us do!
神がみことばで私たちに何かを教えられるなら、必ずそこに神の助けも与えてくださることを覚
えていてください。
He will not even let us be tempted in anyway beyond what we are able to handle.... Notice.
神は、私たちが耐えられないような試練も与えられません。
1Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God
is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation
will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
１コリント 10:13 あなたがたの会った試練はみな人の知らないものではありません。神は真実な
方ですから、あなたがたを、耐えられないほどの試練に会わせることはなさいません。むしろ、
耐えられるように、試練とともに脱出の道も備えてくださいます。

Jesus is that Way of escape!!!
イエスこそが、脱出の道なのです。
As the old saying goes,
古いことわざで
“Where there is a will there is a WAY!”
And Spiritually speaking it is True!.... If it is God’s will... there is a WAY!”
「意思あるところに道あり」などと言われますが、
信仰的にもこれは真理です。もしそれが神のみこころなら、そこには道があるのです。
We just need to get OUT of the way and let God have HIS way!
神のやりかたで働いていただき、私たちが邪魔をしないようにすればよいのです。
But when someone says there is just no way! It’s impossible!!! Muri!
けれども、そんなことはできない、無理だと言う人がいるなら、
I believe it is it often because there is just NO Way THEY they are willing to do it!
それはおそらく、その人たちがやる気がないということなのでしょう。
You see we want it our way! Don’t we?
私たちは自分のやり方で物事をしたいと思うものです。
Our way or the Highway!
自分のやり方じゃないとだめ、という考え方です。
How does the old song go? “I did it (What?) my way!”
マイウェイという歌がありますね。「すべては心の決めたままに」と
And “Where there is NO will there is NO WAY!”
そして、「意思のないところに道なし」です。
If, someone has simply made up there mind and are not willing to do something...
That’s it!
Theres No WAY! Impossible! Muri!!!
もし、これはしたくない、と心に決めてしまったら、
それで終わりです。
そこに道はありません。無理です。
You can go through and counter every excuse they may have to not want to do something until
they finally have no excuses left.
And Guess what they will say then???
あれこれ理由をつけて、これはできないと言いますが、言い訳も尽きてくると、
結局こう言います。
“I just don’t want to!!!”
「とにかくやりたくないんだ」
You see, “Where there is NO will there is NO WAY!”
ですから、「意思のないところに道なし」なのです。
If you have no will, no desire to live your life for Christ... then there is no way you will!
If you have no will to stop sinning... then there is no way you will!

If you have no will to forgive others the way Jesus has forgiven you... then there is no way you will!
And we can go on and on and on....
キリストのために生きる気がないなら、・・・そう生きる道はありません。
罪を犯すのをやめる気がないなら、・・・そうなるわけがありません。
イエスが赦してくださったように人を赦そうという気がないなら、・・・赦せるはずありませ
ん。
万事がそうです。
Your wife, your mother, your friends, no one! As much as they try will be able to persuade you...
あなたの妻、母親、友人、誰であろうと、いくら努力しても説得はできないのです。
God Himself will never make you do anything against your own will!
He’s given us all free will!
We either want to change or not!
We either want to listen and obey His word or not!
We either want to receive His love or not.
We either want to go to heaven or not!
神も、あなたの意志に反することを強制はなさいません。
神は私たちに自由意思を与えてくださったのです。
私たちは、変わりたいのか、変わりたくないのか。
神のみことばに聞き従いたいか、そうでないのか。
神の愛を受け取りたいか、そうでないか。
天国に行きたいか、そうでないか、選ばなければならないのです。
But God isn’t going to force us to do anything against our will!
He has granted us free will!
神は私たちの意志に反することを強制はなさいません。
神は私たちに自由意思を与えてくださったのです。
It is our choice!
選ぶのは私たちです。
No will... no way!
意思のないところに・・・道なしです。
Colossians 1:2* To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you
and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
コロサイ 1:2 コロサイにいる聖徒たちで、キリストにある忠実な兄弟たちへ。どうか、私たちの
父なる神から、恵みと平安があなたがたの上にありますように。
We see these words Grace and peace, coupled together, over and over throughout the New
Testament. And they are Always in this order because we cannot know the peace of God, until we
first experience the grace of God.
恵みと平安という言葉は、新約聖書でよくセットで使われます。そして、いつもこの順番です。
それは、私たちが神の恵みを経験して初めて、神の平安を知ることができるからです。
God’s grace has been defined as unmerited, undeserved favor.
神の恵みとは、私たちが受けるに値しない恩恵と定義されています。
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is
the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

エペソ 2:8-9 あなたがたは、恵みのゆえに、信仰によって救われたのです。それは、自分自身か
ら出たことではなく、神からの賜物です。 行いによるのではありません。だれも誇ることのない
ためです。
Grace is very different than Justice and Mercy:
Justice is getting exactly what we deserve.
恵みは、正義とあわれみとはずいぶん違います。
正義は、私たちが受けるにふさわしいものを得ることです。
Mercy is not getting the bad that we deserve.
あわれみは、私たちが受けるにふさわしい悪いことを免れることです。
Grace is getting the good that we do not deserve.
恵みは、私たちが受けるに値しない良いものをいただくことです。
And when we discover the fact that God has accepted us as we are, weak as we might be, failing
as we might be, stumbling and faltering as we might be, and yet knowing that God still loves and
accepts sinners like you and me...
Wow! That is when we will start to understanding what the grace of God is all about.
そして、神は私たちをあるがままで受け入れてくださいました。弱い、至らない、歩みの定まら
ない罪人の私たちを、そのことを知りながら、愛し、受け入れてくださるのです。この事実を知
る時、・・・
それこそが、神の恵みがどういうものかを理解しはじめるときです。
And when we realize that God has accepted us by His grace, that is when we receive the peace of
God. Because we realize that it isn't something we have got to work for.
It isn't something that we have to strive and struggle and try to create ourselves.
And when we realize that it is not by works of righteousness which we have done, but by His
grace, God loves me just as I am!
神が恵みによって私たちを受け入れてくださったことがわかると、神の平安を得ます。それは、
自力で獲得したのではないとわかるからです。
自分の努力で生みだせるものでもありません。
そして、自分たちの正しい行いによってではなく、神の恵みによって、ありのままの姿の私たち
を神は愛してくださるのだとわかるようになるのです。
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.
ローマ 5:8 しかし私たちがまだ罪人であったとき、キリストが私たちのために死んでくださった
ことにより、神は私たちに対するご自身の愛を明らかにしておられます。
Understand...
There is nothing I can do to make God love me more...
And there is nothing I can do to make God love me less!
神にもっと愛していただくために私たちができることは何もありません。
また、私たちのどんな行いも、神の愛を冷めさせることはありません。
And when we come to this realization, that is when the glorious peace of God begins to fill our
heart.
Jesus said,
John 14:27* “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to
you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

ヨハネ 14:27 わたしは、あなたがたに平安を残します。わたしは、あなたがたにわたしの平安を
与えます。わたしがあなたがたに与えるのは、世が与えるのとは違います。あなたがたは心を騒
がしてはなりません。恐れてはなりません。
No need to be troubled nor afraid. No need to struggle, to strive, and work to be accepted by God.
All we have to do is simply trust Him at His Word and receive the love, the grace and peace that
He desires to give us.
心を騒がしたり、恐れる必要はありません。神に受け入れられようと苦労して努力する必要もあ
りません。ただ、神のみことばを信じ、私たちに差し出された愛と恵みと平安を受け取ればよい
のです。
There are so many today looking for peace within themselves.
But until they have peace with God.
It is impossible to have peace within themselves.
We can’t have peace when we are at war with God.
心の安らぎを求める人はたくさんいます。
しかし、神の平安をいただくまでは、
心に安らぎが来ることはありません。
神と敵対しているのに、平安を持つことはできないのです。
You want peace? Well, your not going to win any battles against God!
So, you might as lay down your weapons, lay down your rebellion, your self will, your pride, and
surrender! Give it up!
Simply say, “God, please forgive me, here I am, I surrender all to You”...
And by His grace we are forgiven, no longer in rebellion, no longer fighting against God. And oh,
what peace there is to follow. Halelujia!
平安を求めていますか。神との戦いに勝てるわけはありません。
ですから、武器を捨て、反抗心、意志、プライドを捨てて、降伏しましょう。神にすべてを明け
渡しましょう。
「神よ、お赦しください。あなたにすべてを明け渡します」と宣言しましょう。
そうすれば、神の恵みによって、あなたは赦され、神に敵対する者ではなくなります。すると、
すばらしい平安が心におとずれます。ハレルヤ。
Know Jesus, Know Peace!
No Jesus, No Peace!
It’s that simple!
イエスを知れば、平安も知る。
イエスがなければ、平安もない。
これほどシンプルなことです。
So, Paul’s opening salutation...
パウロは、手紙の冒頭でこう言っています。
Colossians 1:2* To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you
and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
コロサイ 1:2 コロサイにいる聖徒たちで、キリストにある忠実な兄弟たちへ。どうか、私たちの
父なる神から、恵みと平安があなたがたの上にありますように。
And God’s Grace and Peace are offered to us today as well.
そして、神の恵みと平安は今日の私たちにも与えられています。
But once again... it is our choice!

しかし、もらうかどうか選ぶのは私たちです。
We know God is willing.... He loves us so much and He wants to bless us.
But He isn’t going to force His love on us.
He has given us our free will.
神はそれを望んでくださっています。神は私たちを深く愛してくださり、祝福したいと望んでお
られます。
しかし、神はご自分の愛を私たちに強制なさいません。
私たちに自由意思を与えてくださっているからです。
But what is our will?
では、私たちの望みは何でしょう。
If you have the will.... know this... Jesus is the way!
もしあなたにその気があるなら、・・・イエスが道です。
But where there is No will... know this... there is no way!
けれども、意思のないところには・・・道もありません。
