1972年東京大学法学部卒業。同年通商産業省（現経済 の経済連携交渉等、通商政策をリードする。
2007年経済産業省を退任、同年東京海上日動火災保険
産業省）
入省。
主としてエネルギー政策、通商政策に従事。1998年内閣 株式会社の顧問に就任。
総理大臣秘書官事務取扱（小渕恵三元首相）
に就任。そ 2009年国際石油開発帝石株式会社に入社。副社長を務
の後、貿易経済協力局長、通商政策局長等の通商関係の めた後、2010年6月より代表取締役社長。現在に至る。
ポストを歴任し、2006年経済産業審議官に就任。諸外国と

in 2009.
Throughout his career, he held a variety of
directorial positions at Ministry of Economy, Trade
and Industry of Japan, such as international trade,
economic cooperation, and public utility sectors.
Also he served the late Prime Minister, Keizo
Obuchi as executive assistant in 1998. He was
named Vice Minister for international affairs in 2006,
taking a lead in economic and trade negotiations
with foreign governments.
In 2007, he transferred to Tokyo Marine and Nichido
Fire Insurance as an advisor.
He holds LL.B. from Tokyo University.

Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi氏は、アブダビ国営石油会社
（ADNOC）
に27年間勤務し石油・天然ガス業界で優れ
た業績をあげてきた。現在はStrategy & Coordination
Directorであるが、
これまでに様々な職位に就いてきた。
1987年ADNOC Exploration Divisionに配属の後、同
DivisionのPetroleum Resources Division Manager、
Offshore Division Manager、そしてProduction
Directorateの座を歴任した。

大学で地質物理学の理学士号
を、米国のコロラドスクールオブマインズで地球物理工学
の修士号を取得。後に役員として米国カリフォルニア州の
Stanford Executive Programに参加。
Mr. Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi has built a distinguished
career in the Oil and Gas industry during his twentyseven year tenure at ADNOC. He is currently the
Director of Strategy & Coordination having worked
through the ranks. 'After joining ADNOC Exploration
Division in 1987, Ali Khalifa secured the positions
of Petroleum Resources Division Manager and
Offshore Division Manager in the Exploration and
Production Directorate.
Mr. Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi earned his Bachelor
of Science degree in Geology and Physics from
UAEU and his Master in Geophysical Engineering
from Colorado School of Mines in the USA. He
later attended the Stanford Executive Program in
California, USA as his leadership career further
developed.

Based in Houston, Bob Fryklund is Chief Upstream Strategist
for IHS, where he is responsible for providing strategic
leadership for global clients.
Bob joined IHS in 2006, after serving as Libya president and
Brazil country manager for ConocoPhillips. He brings more than
33 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry as
an explorer and as executive manager. He has also held senior
management positions in upstream with British Borneo, Union
Texas and Hess.
Fryklund is an expert in exploration, opportunity assessment,
acquisition, strategic planning and portfolio management. He
is a frequent expert witness and he has been involved in many
of the industries game changers- discovery of the giant oil and
gas fields and the largest M & A deal in the last decade.
He is a recognized industry thought-leader and frequent
keynote speaker/moderator at energy industry conferences
and associations, including the World Economic Forum, IHS
CERAWeek, AAPG, SPE, IEA,OTC, ARPEL, EAGE, AIPN and
NAPE. He serves on the advisory board of IPAA and ARPEL
and previously served on boards such as the IBP (Brazilian oil

Dr. Xue is a Chief Researcher with a primary focus
on seismic rock physics in carbon sequestration.
He joined in RITE (Research Institute of Innovative
Technology for the Earth) in 2000 and started
his professional career in carbon sequestration.
He involved with CO2 monitoring at the Nagaoka
pilot project. He served as an Associate Editor of
International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control
during 2007-2012 and was responsible mainly for
CO2 monitoring in carbon sequestration.

Prof. Masanori Kurihara
Professor, Department of Resources and Environmental Engineering, School of Creative Science and

In 1980, Professor Kurihara joined Japan Oil
Engineering Company, where he participated
in numerous projects for reservoir evaluation/
simulation and education. In 1995, he took a
Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at
Austin, developing the 3D streamline model. In
2010, he won the Science and Technology Award
of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology. In 2011, he moved to
the Department of Resources and Environmental
Engineering of Waseda University. Since then,
he has been teaching and investigating various
disciplines regarding reservoir engineering, reservoir
simulation, reservoir modeling/characterization
and petrophysics for both conventional and
unconventional oil/gas resources.

Kazuhiko Tezuka is a general manager of JAPEX
Research Center. He joined JAPEX in 1983 after he
graduated from a faculty of engineering at Tohoku
University. He worked as a visiting scientist at
Earth Resources Laboratory at MIT in 1993-1994.
He received his Ph.D. from Tohoku University in
1997 in earth resources engineering. His research
focused on characterization of fractured reservoirs,
microseismic monitoring and geomechanical

the Japan chapter of the SPWLA since 2011.

He joined Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. (JDC) in 1975 after
graduation from the Department of Mechanical Engineering,
Faculty of Engineering at Doshisha University in that year. He
worked to construct the offshore drilling rigs of HAKURYU-5,
HAKURYU-6, HAKURYU-7, and the AGAOKI-KITA platform
as a construction engineer, barge engineer and maintenance
engineer from 1976 to 1986. He accomplished joint researches
with Japan National Oil Corporation of "Development of the
optimization program for the semisubmersible and floating
production system" from 1987 to 1991, "Development of the
early production testing system in deepwater" from 1992 to
1999, "Research of Deepwater FPSO with drilling system"
from 2000 to 2001, and " The research of the development
system for Methane hydrate development" from 2001 to
2004. He managed the construction of offshore drilling unit,
HAKURYU-10 as the Site Project Manager in Singapore
from 2005 to 2006. He became General Manager of Drilling
Technology Department in 2007. He managed various projects
such as offshore drilling engineering and construction, as well
as the national project of "Design, Procurement and Operation
of the first offshore Methane hydrate production test in offshore
directed by JOGMEC from 2010 to 2013. He has assumed
the position of Executive Officer, General Manager of Drilling
Technology Department from 2014.
Member of The Japanese Association for Petroleum
Technology (JAPT), Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE)
and the Japan Society for Computational Engineering and
Science (JSCES).
