S H AY E A N TO I N E Cache Creek, B.C. | [email protected] | 250.457.1007 “I am 20 years old and have lived in cache creek all my life. I have a son who is two years old and just want to make him proud of me in the future and that I did everything I could possibly do to make our life better. When my sister told me about this opportunity that she had taken I have been trying ever since to get into this course. I’ve been very hard working in everything I’ve done so far. I was in the Women’s In Trades program and loved welding but I enjoyed the machine operating the most. I worked as a welder’s helper up north but I moved back to go back to school and find work as a machine operator. I wouldn’t want to pursue anything other than be in a trades work environment. “ JAISON FEDIRCHUK Vernon, B.C | [email protected] | 250.306.3248 “I am from Vernon, B.C. and have spent a good deal of time working, hunting, fishing and guiding in the mountains around B.C.. I’ve been involved with brushing, reforestation and fires for 10 years. I have also worked in the oil patch on the drill rigs and I have some trucking experience. (Class 1 with Air) I have subcontracted for myself over the past 2 years in the construction industry as well as those areas above. I am a hard worker, punctual, a team player and a fast learner. I look forward to working in the forest industry as an equipment operator, and I believe the trucking experience I have could be an asset as well. STEPHANIE HILASH Merritt, B.C | [email protected] | 250.280.0941 “ I want to thank all the people who have made this program possible. I have learned so much in such a short time. It will feel great to be able to maintain and run the heavy equipment that I was trained to do. I’m 24 years old. I am a very focused and dedicated hard worker. I will try to the best of my ability to complete all tasks handed to me. I am also very reliable and on time. I come from the small town of Merritt BC, but I grew up on a little farm in the community of Pritchard B.C surrounding me with the beautiful forest. I have been in the bush close to all my life, helping my grandpa collect firewood, collecting Christmas trees, and horseback riding with my 6 year old daughter Lexi. We both love to horseback ride any chance we get. I am really looking forward to working in the forest industry, and I am more than willing to relocate.” JOEY MESSER Vernon, B.C. | [email protected] | 778.932.1438 “I want to thank the ILA and TRU for giving me this opportunity to build a career in the Forest Industry. I have an eager passion for working outside and learning new things. I took the Forestry program at Charles Bloom Secondary School for two years and really enjoyed it. I learned how to run a John Deere 440 Line Skidder and 650 John Deere Cat. I also now how to run a chain saw and am very comfortable in the bush. I believe I would make a great asset to your team and I am willing to relocate for work. I can’t wait to start my career in the forest industry.” KURTIS PETERS Kamloops, B.C. | [email protected] | 778.257.5919 “I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this program possible. From this program I have learned the fundamental and practical operation and maintenance of heavy equipment in the forest industry. I’m 21 years old and have lived in the Cariboo for most of my life. I feel very privileged to be in this course, I’ve always had a fascination with heavy equipment. My background in the work force has touched in and around the forestry district, with experience in construction and production worker at a plywood mill. With these jobs I have come to appreciate the quality of wood and strive to produce the best quality I’m capable of. Timber cruising and surveying has given me the knowledge of the cut blocks, as well as the ability to read and comprehend maps. Special thanks to Gillian Watt, Wayne Lintott and Rocky, for their huge contributions towards the program and my education.” SIMON PUMPHREY Kelowna, B.C | [email protected] | 250.718.6576 “I’m really impressed with and appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into putting the HEO course together. I’m 28, and was born and raised in Kelowna B.C. I have always had interest in Heavy Machinery and the Logging industry. So the HEO course was a great opportunity and introduction to machinery as well as the industry. It has gotten me even more excited to participate and contribute. “ L L A C E S H I N TA H Cache Creek, B.C. | [email protected] | 250.457.1815 “I am a hard working and dependable worker. I also have my level 3 first aid. I’m a single mother of 3 little beautiful girls. I would love to make proud one day also show them that hard work does pay off in life. Ever since I was able to go out there in the work force I’ve done labour work I enjoy doing it. For the last 3 years I’ve worked in construction as a traffic control person. In this past year I was able to experience being a flagging supervisor. I learned a lot and enjoyed my time. I’m a member of pavilion Indian band I also live there. I’ve been interested in running heavy equipment for a very long time. For the past 12 years I have been fortunate enough to run my dads back hoe around the house doing odds and ends. I’m new to the logging industry but look forward to what it holds in the future. “ For more information contact Wayne Lintott, GM, Interior Logging | 250.503.2199 Gillian Watt, Program Manager | 250.319.2367 Rocky Ashton, Lead Instructor | 250.395.6565
