お待たせしました。いよいよ韓国語講座を開催いたします。初心者でも大丈夫ですよ。
（東方神起やヨンさまなど憧れのスターの国、韓国・・・）
ハングルや韓国文化に興味のある方はどなたでも楽しみながら参加できる講座です。

１０月２４日（土）晴天に恵まれ、ジュニア会員を含め、多くの参加を頂き、和
気あいあいのもと実施できました。今年は初参加の国の研修員がいなかった
ので、国旗の数は同じでしたが、各自が自国の国旗の色褪せた部分を手直
し、サインをしました。ペイントしながら参加者と交わす会話もその国を知る大
変貴重な交流の場でした。今後も町と世界をつなぐ心と心の交流として貴重
なイベントになることを願っています。(M.O.)
Blessed with good weather and the help of several KIS and KIS Junior
members, everyone enjoyed the Flag Painting event on Saturday, October
24. Since all of the JICA participants were from countries previously
represented in Kosaka, everyone simply touched up the faded parts of
their countries' flags and signed their names. While painting, everyone
conversed and enjoyed the precious opportunity to learn about the JICA participants' countries. In the
future, I'm sure that this event will continue to be a wonderful opportunity for the people of Kosaka to
develop heart-to-heart relationships with people around the world. (M.O.)
JICA研修員に感想を伺いましたので、紹介します。
One of the JICA participants told us what he thought about the
Flag Painting event:
モンゴルで元ＪＩＣＡ研修員から「国旗描き」の話を聞いていたの
で、来町したら、国旗の色を修正し、名前をサインさせていただきま
した。ＫＩＳ会員やホストファミリー・フレンドの方々にも手伝っていた
だきました。そして、元ＪＩＣＡ研修員への思い出に、モンゴルの国
旗を撮影し、写真を送りました。中央公園の壁に８９ヵ国の国旗が描
かれている小坂町は、とても国際的な町だと思います。過去と現在
のＪＩＣＡ研修員を代表して、ＫＩＳがこの事業を計画してくださったこ
とに感謝しています。
この場を借りて、ホストファミリー・フレンドのみなさんの親切と、ま
た２ヵ月にわたって日本文化やいくつかの面白い生活を紹介してくださったことに改めてお礼を言いたかっ
たです。大変お世話になりました。ありがとうございました。是非モンゴルを訪問してください。いつでも大歓迎

I'd heard about the Flag Painting event from past JICA participants in Mongolia, so when I came here,
we refreshed our countries' flags and signed our names under them. During this event we received help
from KIS members and our host families. Also, I sent a photo of the flag to some past participants in
Mongolia for memory's sake. Kosaka is a very international place with flags and memories from 89
countries. On behalf of JICA alumni around the world, thank you very much to KIS for hosting this event
every year.
I'd like to take this opportunity to mention that our host families are very kind and introduced us to
many interesting parts of Japanese life and culture during our two-month training. Thank you again. You
are welcome in Mongolia any time. I hope that you take the time to visit.

料理で世界旅行 Travel the World Via Food 初めてホストフレンドを経験して・・・
今年の料理教室はラオス・アルバニア・ソロモン諸島・モンゴル・カンボジア・アメリ
カ・日本の７ヵ国でした。毎回調理の段階で驚かされますが、今年も鶏肉のひき肉作
りから始まりました。以前、豚肉のひき肉作りのお手伝いをしましたが、日本ではひき
肉は初めから売っていますのでお肉をたたく苦労は知らないので大変でした。次に
斬新な調理の仕方とスパイスの多さに驚かされます。そして最後はおいしさに
感動します。何よりも言葉も文化も違う方達が集まって海外まで足を運ばず、身近で
接して勉強できたことに感謝です。ありがとうございました。（N.K.）
First Time Host Friends
初めて自力で参加した家庭交流プログラムは心配していた通り、英語が思
ったように使えず落ち込むこともありました。
しかし、JICAの皆さんがとても良い方ばかりで、特に研修員のクリスタさんが
、いつも私の言いたいことを理解しようという姿勢の方でしたので、失敗を恐れ
ず、会話やイベントに取り組めました。
研修員を担当する責任感や、滞在を楽しんでもらうための配慮など、グルー
プリーダーからは、見習うことがたくさんありました。
勝手が分からなかったり、時間が取れなかったり、自分にとって決して大満
足の交流ではなかったけれど、研修員の方々と一緒に、自分が住んでいる地
域の環境や歴史、文化を改めて学ぶ良い機会となりました。(M.S.)
This was my first time participating in the Host Family/Friend Exchange Program. As expected, I had trouble
communicating in English and was depressed by this fact.
However, this year's JICA participants were all great people, and everyone (especially Krista) always
conscientiously tried to understand what I was saying. For that reason, I took part in conversations and events
without worrying about my English mistakes.
There were many things to learn from our group leader, including her sense of responsibility and consideration for
the JICA participants.
I wasn't able to spend as much time with the our visitors as I would have liked, and personally it wasn't a highly
satisfying exchange for me, but it was still a great opportunity to revisit and learn about the history, culture, and
the local environment of the town I live in.(M.S.)
今回初めてホストフレンドとして約２ヶ月JICA研修員の皆さんと関わりを持つことができ、とても自分自身の勉強になり、
楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。また自分の意思を伝えることの難しさを改めて感じました。
世界中にたくさんの人がいるのに、この小さな町で出会えたということは本当に素晴らしいことだと私は思います。
これからも人との出会いを大切にしながら様々なことにチャレンジしたいです。貴重な体験をさせて頂きありがとうござ

This was my first experience as a host friend. During the JICA participants' two-month stay, I had a good time
with them and learned a lot. I also realized once again how difficult it is to express my intentions to others.
Although there are many people in the world, I think it's wonderful that I was able to meet our visitors in such a
small town.
In the future I will continue to value the people whom I meet and hope to take on many new challenges. Thank
you for allowing me to have such a precious experience.(A.S.)
This year's International Food Festival consisted of dishes from seven different
countries: Laos, Albania, the Solomon Islands, Mongolia, Cambodia, the United
States, and Japan. I'm always surprised by the steps involved in preparing the
various dishes, and this year was no exception. The group I was in started out by
making ground chicken. One year I helped a group mince pork meat, but at the
time I was unfamiliar with how much trouble it was going to be. After all, preground meats are sold all across Japan. Every year I'm surprised by the number of
original dishes and spices used, and in the end I'm always impressed by how
delicious everything tastes, too. More than anything else, I'm grateful to be able
to interact directly with and learn from people of different languages and backgrounds without traveling
overseas. Thank you for this opportunity. (N.K.)
JICA研修員に感想を伺いましたので、紹介します。
One of the JICA participants told us what she thought about the International Food Festival event:
2009年11月3日に開催された「国際料理を楽しむ会」について、伝統的
なラオス料理のラーブを作り、紹介できる貴重な機会になりました。結婚
式や特別なイベントを祝う為に、バスィーというセレモニーの際、この料理
がよく作られています。なぜなら、ラオス語で「ラーブ」というのは「幸運」と
いう意味だからです。
KISのみなさんと一緒に調理した時、日本ではなく、母国にいるように感
じたと共に、ホストファミリー、KISのみなさん、JICA研修員のみなさんとラ
オス料理に関わるアイディアや経験等を共有することが出来ました。そし
て、日本人の方々が普段食べられない物を試食することができ、とても楽
しい交流会になったと思います。 ∼ダオルアン・ホングリキ（ラオス）∼
The International Food Festival was held on November 3, 2009. I had
the pleasure and great opportunity to show off my skills cooking
traditional Lao food such as "Lab". Most Lao people usually cook this food for the Baci ceremony, which is used
to celebrate wedding parties and other special events. This is because "Lab" means "lucky" in Laotian.
When I cooked with members of Kosaka International Society, it seemed like I was back in my own country. I
was able to share ideas and experiences about food with my host family, KIS members, and other JICA
participants. In addition, this event enabled Japanese people to taste many ethnic foods from other places and
The farewell function that KIS threw for us on December 1 was amazing. I am so overwhelmed by KIS and its
enjoy the evening with us. ∼ Daoluang Honglikith, Laos ∼
members commitment and hospitality. The juggling act was awesome, the
trombone music sensational, and the dancing astounding. WOW!!!!! And
the food! Ahhh, the food! So delicious!
On the other hand, the night was an emotional one for me. I am at a loss
for words because KIS through its host friend program gave me the
opportunity to experience the beauty and culture of Japan and its people. I
shall go back to my country with fond memories of beautiful Kosaka, and as
for the friends that I made here, you will forever be engraved in the memory
lane of my heart.
I love you all. Thank you for making my stay in Kosaka a flawless and

協会員の献身と深い思い、手厚いもてなし等に感激しました。ジャグリン

グもトロンボーンの演奏もダンスも非常に驚異的だったと思います。すご
∼い！勿論食べ物もとっても美味しかったです。
一方、私にとって、その夜はとても感情的な夜でした。何と表現すれば
ＪＩＣＡ研修員の約２ヵ月間に渡る滞在期間、計画されていた交流事業はお陰様で無事終了いたしました。今ま
良いのか分からない程、KISの家庭交流プログラムを通して、日本と日本
での３ヵ月間の滞在と同じボリュウムの事業ではありましたが、スタッフ、会員、関係者の皆様の御協力と意気込
人の文化や美しさを体験することができた機会に感謝しています。美しい
みで目的を果たすことが出来、研修員の方々は、喜びと感謝の言葉をたくさん残して５日離町いたしました。
小坂町の懐かしいたくさんの思い出とともに帰国して、小坂町で出来た友
今年は、会場に研修員を迎える前に参加者に事業の流れを説明してから始めました。それは、ＪＩＣＡ交流事業
だち全員がきっと永遠に心に刻まれることでしょう。
に関しては「お客様は研修員で、会員はお客様ではない。みんなで歓迎、歓送するために事業の流れを会員
小坂町のみなさん、愛しています！小坂町の滞在をパーフェクトな経験にしていただいて心の底からありがとうご
