ごあいさつ
東京フォト 2012 開催に向けて
国際的な写真のフェアとして2009 年よりはじまった東京フォトは、今年で早くも4 回目の開催となりました。そして2012 年、東京フォトは、一気に
進化し飛躍します。世界のアート・シーンの潮流を東京へ引き込むがために、国際色豊かな世界レベルのコンテンツ、作品とプログラムを実現しま
した。「見るだけ」の静かなアート鑑賞とは異なり、見本市であるアートフェアの醍醐味は、「作品の購入」と世界中から集まる「コレクターやギャ
ラリスト、アーティストとの交流」です。これらのアクティビティーを、国内で体験出来る事はたいへん有意義で、とても幸せな事です。来場する皆
様に刺激的でチャレンジングな4日間をお過ごし頂き、是非、気に入った作品を手に入れる喜びを実感して頂けますと幸いです。

「東京フォト」がめざすもの
今年の第 4 回「東京フォト」は、昨年からスペースを約 2 倍に拡張し、東京、北京、上海、ニューヨーク、ロサンゼルス、ロンドン、パリ、ベルリ
ン、アムステルダムから30を超える国際的評価の高い画廊にご参加いただき、その数は過去最多となりました。さらに、今回から「東京フォト」は
経済産業省の、その名もCreative Tokyoという新しい都市ブランド再生プロジェクトの一環となりました。このプロジェクトは東京のクリエイティブ
産業の育成と持続可能な発展を促進し、「日本の首都をアジアのクリエイティブ・ハブとして確立させる」ことを目指しています。この発想は、香港
の Asia s World City、ソウルの Soul of Asia、シンガポールの Your Singapore のようなアジアの他の都市のブランド再生キャンペーンの成功に
並ぼうとするものです。これらの都市構想の焦点はみな、その都市の住民の創造力を活性化することと言えましょう。
今や創造力というものが、これまで以上に都市を動かす主要な力となっています。米国の都市理論家リチャード・フロリダは、「都市は創造力が煮
えたぎる大釜だ。都市はいつも人間の創造エネルギーを活動させ、集中させ、伝播させる手段だった」と言っています。グローバル都市になろうと
したら、ただ著名な建築家を起用し大きな美術館やオペラ・ハウスを建てるだけでは効果的ではなく、人々の心の中に、ユニークな知的刺激と楽
しさに満ちた sense of place を育てなくてはならないのです。これこそがアート・フェアが得意とするところです。今後、世界中の都市再開発
の中心的役割を果たしていくのは、アート・フェアのような創造力溢れる文化イベントに違いありません。アート・フェアは一見その場かぎりのもの
に見られがちですが、実は、現代社会でもっとも希求される無形資産―文化資本―を都市にもたらします。ニューヨークでは、毎年 30 におよぶアー
ト・フェアが開催されており、その一つが世界で最も古くから写真に特化したフェアである「AIPADフォトグラフィー・ショウ」です。ヨーロッパで
それに並ぶものが「パリ・フォト」で昨年までに15 回を重ねています。「東京フォト」はわずか 4 回目。しかし我々は近い将来、これらのフェアと肩
を並べる、アジアを代表するフォト・フェアとなることを目指しています。

Gagosian Gallery was established in 1980 by Larry Gagosian in Los Angeles. Attuned to the dynamics of today s world,
Gagosian Gallery has since evolved into a global network, currently maintaining eleven distinct exhibition spaces in eight
cities: New York, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Rome, Athens, Geneva, and Hong Kong, and a twelfth opening mid-October
2012 at Le Bourget. Over the last three decades, Gagosian Gallery has presented an unparalleled program of historical
exhibitions together with a roster of ambitious exhibitions by the world s most renowned living artists. Such exhibitions, which
have placed Gagosian Gallery at the forefront of the contemporary art scene, are accompanied by beautifully designed,

The Gallery VU' was founded in Paris in November 1997 for the first edition of the international
photographic fair Paris Photo. The aim of the gallery is to make discover again historical
photographers such as Gotthard Schuh and Christer Strömholm and to promote for the first
time young talents such as Ackerman, Engström, Darzacq and recently Ester Vonplon. We also
dedicate our space to important monographic exhibitions to established artists who play a
very important part in the history of photography such as Anders Petersen, Bernard Faucon
and Jeffrey Silverthorne.

からも人気のこのギャラリーは、年に数回、写真業界のパートナーと協力して、展覧会や出版を手がけている（PHPA
Award / Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche, Niépce Award / Gens d'images）。また、定期的に、ヨーロッパの
美術館や文化施設の展示コンセプトを手がけている。
Since its installation in 1996 in an artist studio located in Montparnasse, the Esther Woerdehoff
gallery has made a name for itself in the world of photography and is now a key place in the
Paris art scene. It gives an important place to contemporary photography but also keeps works
from classic photographers such as Erwin Blumenfeld, Diane Arbus, René Burri or Mario Cravo
Neto. The gallery keeps on attracting new artists and collectors and joins forces several times
a year with partners in the field of photography for exhibitions or publications (PHPA Award /
Hôtels Paris Rive Gauche, Niépce Award / Gens d'images). It also helps museums and cultural
institutions on a regular basis with the conception of exhibitions in France and in Europe.

Guy Bourdin, born in Paris in 1928, was one of the most radical and influential fashion photographers of the twentieth
century. His unique blend of surreal and erotic imagery filled the pages of international magazines such as French Vogue
during the 1970s and also became synonymous with the revolutionary advertising campaigns for Charles Jourdan.
Rejecting the typical product shot in favour of staging unsettling scenarios that hint at consumption, sex and desire, his
photographs sought to shock and ignite the viewer s curiosities.
Bourdin realised that it is not fashion itself that seduces people but the fantasy it represents. Psychodrama and the theatre
of the absurd pervade his work; a true master of the storyboard, Bourdin rigorously planned his compositions for fashion
shoots to suit the format of the printed page. Conceived long before the advent of digital retouching, he went to tremendous
lengths to produce highly stylised images, often pushing his models to their limits to achieve his desired vision.
In very few cases were his pictures published or exhibited outside of the transient medium. This exhibition introduces rarely
seen before, limited edition work of some of his most captivating images - including a selection from his renowned series
for the Pentax Calendar of 1980. Michael Hoppen Gallery is the exclusive representative of the Estate of Guy Bourdin.

Since its founding in 1990, the Danziger Gallery has established itself as one of the leading
photography venues in the world, known for the originality and diversity of its programming, its

last year to a three room street level exhibition space in Chelsea has allowed the gallery
to mount major shows while also responding quickly to new artists and the technological

参加作家：陳宝生、莫穀、張海児、榮榮、張暁、陳哲、張晋、楚儲、阿魯斯
中国の芸術写真は、前世紀に中国の歴史が経験した大きい変革の波に寄り添うようにして発展し
てきた。当初、写真は政治プロパガンダの道具でしかなかったが、1976 年、10 年以上に及ぶ
文化大革命が終結を迎えると、表現の自由を写真に追い求める若者たちが集い現代中国の写真
表現の礎が築かれた。そして早くも80 年代には「85 新潮（ニューウェーブ）」と呼ばれる現代芸
術の新たな潮流が生まれ、大胆な創作活動を始める写真家が出てきた。陳宝生は多角度、多
方位、多視点というユニークな制作方法を用い、馬の本性と自己の民族性を表現した作品で国
際的な評判を得ている。莫穀は首の後ろにぶら下げたカメラで街の人々と自分を撮るという写真
のパフォーマンスアートを行い、張海児は南方沿海都市の風景と女性たちの姿、煽動的なセルフ
ポートレイトにより自己の感性を全面に表現した。
榮榮は 90 年代初頭から、北京の芸術家村である東村に住み始め、当時無名の前衛アーティスト
たちを記録していった。1996-98 年には雑誌『新撮影（NEWPHOTO）』を創刊し、同世代の
写真家の作品紹介に尽力することで、中国芸術写真界への理解を大きく促した。現在、創作活
動を共にする映里と、中国で初めての写真、映像をテーマとした民間のアートセンター「三影堂
撮影芸術中心」を設立。
本展は、現代中国の芸術写真の発展に寄与した彼らのような主要作家の他に、
「三影堂撮影賞」
受賞者から、張暁、陳哲、張晋、楚儲、阿魯斯といった国際的に活躍する若手写真家も含め、

The Wapping Project Bankside was established in 2009 by Jules Wright, the founder and
creative director of the much lauded Wapping Project in Wapping, East London. The new
gallery showcases the best in British and international photography, film and video. Gallery

Ray and Robert Doisneau, the Zeit-Foto collection includes a broad range of works besides
photography such as Barbizon paintings, Chinese paintings, SP records, and so on. Some of

TORCH was founded in 1984 as one of the first galleries focussed on contemporary high
art photography in the Netherlands. Since then the gallery has developed into a platform
for all kinds of contemporary art, but a significant portion of the gallery's artists are still
photographers. TORCH strives to present technical innovation in the medium but nonetheless
remains faithful to the classical craft of analogue photography. This approach allows us to work
with artists as diverse as Loretta Lux, Wouter Deruytter, Ellen Kooi and Teun Hocks. Each of them
represent a wholly different approach to the medium of photography.

Christophe Lunn is a private dealer based in Paris, France. Works by represented artists will
be shown alongside a group of photographs from the Estate of Harry H. Lunn Jr. which were
carefully selected with Flo Lunn. In continuity with their father's vision, the focus of the Lunn
family is to promote works by artists who are as attentive to the photographic process as the
image itself.
