V9R 3K6 CANADA http://www.sd68.bc.ca/ 海沿いの温暖な街の学校区。卒業生の進路も多彩で、留学生のサポートも充 実している バンクーバーからフェリーで９０分。ビクトリアま で車で１時間３０分、バンクーバー島第二の町とし て知られるナナイモは人口約８万５千人とカナダ の中では比較的大きめの都市。島では最も重要な交 通と流通の中心地となっています。この学校区の受 け入れ校は６校。６校のうち２校は集中ＥＳＬコー スを設けた英語力初級～中級の留学生を受け入れ ています。残りの４校は個人指導のＥＳＬのもとに、 最初から通常の授業に入っていく上級者向けの学 校となっています。上級者向け学校のひとつに、建 築学、航空整備などの特殊コースを備えた技術専門 高校もあります。各学校ではＥＳＬの先生やカウン セラーがきめ細かく留学生をケアしてくれます。また、面倒見の良いホームステイコーディネーターと 日本人スタッフの存在も心強いところ。交通の便の良さと受け入れ体制のよさで留学生の人気を集める 学校区のひとつです。 学業、ホームステイ生活の両面においてサポートします Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District on beautiful Vancouver Island has been successfully graduating Japanese students since the inauguration of the International Student Education Program in 1998. Our graduates are regularly accepted at universities in Canada, United States, and Japan. The reasons for a high success rate include intensive English-as-a-Second Language instruction, tailor-made academic programming for each student, and a well-staffed support system to aid students in their studies and their homestay situations. The services of our Japanese interpreter also help our students adjust more quickly. Many of our successful Japanese students have benefited from Nanaimo-Ladysmith’s long-standing relationship with CAP Studies. CAP’s thorough counselling service has prepared our students well and has continued to help parents and students throughout the years of study in Canada.
