Orchestre symphonique de Montréal 蒙特利尔交响乐团
1934年創立。
「フランス以上にフランス的なオーケストラ」
と世界
的に称賛されるようになったこの楽団は、1977～2002年に音楽監
督を務めたシャルル・デュトワによって育てられました。
豪華な色彩感
に富んだ、透明で柔軟なサウンドによってＣＤは世界の賞を総ナメ、
数多い海外ツアーで日本でも非常にファンの多いオーケストラです。
その名楽団を2006年に引き継いだのが、リヨン歌劇場、バイエ
ルン州立歌劇場、ベルリン・ドイツ響などの音楽監督を歴任し、現代
きっての名指揮者でコスモポリタンな活動を続ける日系三世ケント・
ナガノ。
その相性は抜群で、2009年の当コンビ初来日でも、R. シュ
トラウス
「アルプス交響曲」
やベルリオーズ
「幻想交響曲」
で、これぞ
Founded in 1934 and lauded globally as being “more French
than a French orchestra”, the Montreal Symphony owes its
growth and success in part to Charles Dutoit, who served as its
music director from 1977 to 2002. Rich in splendid color and with
its clear, smooth sound, the orchestra’s recordings have swept
numerous global awards; the orchestra’s frequent overseas tours
have also ensured that there are plenty of fans in Japan.
The current music director, who took on the role in 2006, is
the third generation Japanese-American conductor Kent Nagano.
Having served as music director for orchestras including the
Opéra de Lyon, Bavarian State Opera and Deutsches SymphonieOrchester Berlin, the cosmopolitan Mr. Nagano is undoubtedly one
of the leading conductors today. The rapport between orchestra
and conductor is outstanding, and performances of Richard
Strauss’ Eine Alpensinfonie and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique
during the orchestra’s first tour to Japan in 2009 under Kent
Nagano truly epitomized the pleasure of listening to an orchestra.
