“no more ~ than…”「…と同様～でない」という表現がポイント。

“none the less because ~”で「～にもかかわらず」という意味。比較級
less の意味がどうこうと考えるものではなく、イディオムとして覚えてしま
おう。

“one of the + 形容詞（最上級） + 名詞（複数形）”という形がポイン
トで、
「最も形容詞な名詞のうちの 1 人／1 つ」という意味。that I learned

の構文。ここは前から順に「～すればするほど、…だ」と訳していく。後半
部の“will be its practical possibilities”は倒置が起こっている。
2. エネルギー危機ほど、世界の経済的相互依存は事実であり、そこには合
衆国も含まれているということを、我々アメリカ人に確信させてきたものは
ない。また、我々の生活水準は、世界の他の国よりもかなり高いのであるが、
世界のなすがままであるということを、アメリカ人に確信させてきたものも
ない。
Noting has done as much as ~：最上級同等表現。直訳すれば「エネルギ
ー危機ほど多くのことをしてきたものはない」となる。
Nothing has done as much to ~：第一文と構造は同じだが、“as the
energy crisis”が省略されている。これを補って意味をとろう。
