Garde presents a new concept for a shopping center renovation in China
中国・北京市のショッピングセンター改装プロジェクトについて
The shopping center Joy City Chaoyang in Beijing reopened in March 2015 after the renovation of the 5th and 6th floor.
Garde has been responsible for the concept design of the two floors. The space was originally a multistory parking
space. The designers proposed hand-made sketches instead of computerized renderings to offer a realistic feeling to
the client. The environment resembles an old European town with stone pavements, bridges and trees. Natural and
artificial lawns offer a natural environment and a 12-meter symbolic tree stands in the atrium connecting the two floors.
中国・北京市朝陽区のショッピングセンター「Joy City 朝陽」が、弊社が概念設計を手掛けた 5 階、6 階の改装工事を終えて
2015 年 3 月に再オープンしました。 今回改装したこのフロアスペースは元駐車場で、デザイナーは提案の際、よりリアリスティ
ックに雰囲気を伝えるため、コンピュータを使用した設計図ではなく手描きのスケッチを使用しました。石畳や橋、木々を配して
ヨーロッパの街並みを再現しています。天然芝と人工芝が自然な環境を作り、12 メートルのシンボルツリーが 2 フロアを繋ぐア
トリウムに設置されました。

The overall design of 'a natural and realistic town' is consistent trough the space. Each individual tenant had to
follow strict regulations for the store facades. A fountain at the center of the 5th floor encourages the customers to
spend a pleasant time inside the shopping center. The lighting follows the passage of time changing during the
day to recreate a realistic atmosphere. This innovative design offers a unique experience to the customers, that
can take a leisurely stroll in an European environment at the center of Beijing.
「自然で本当の街」を表現するデザインは空間スペースにも表われており、其々のテナントは、ファサードについて厳しく決めら
れた既定に従う事を義務づけられています。５階中央の噴水はショッピングセンターでの時間を楽しく活気づけるものとなって
おり、また、通路の照明は現実の空間を再現するよう時間によって変化していきます。この斬新なデザインは、ここを訪れる
人々が北京の中心にいながらヨーロッパの街並みを散歩しているような体験を可能にしています。
