SDTI(HDCAM)インターフェースボードHKDW-102は、HD デジタ
ルビデオカセットレコーダー HDW-2000/M2000(以下「レコー
ダー」
)およびHDデジタルビデオカセットプレーヤーHDW-A2100/
M2100(以下
「プレーヤー」
)に装着して使用するオプションボードで
す。
本ボードをレコーダー/プレーヤーに装着すると、以下のことが可能
になります。
• HDCAMフォーマットのテープの再生信号を、圧縮データのまま
SDTI(HDCAM)信号として出力することができます。
• 他機から入力されたSDTI(HDCAM)信号を、伸張・圧縮するこ
となくテープに記録することができます。
• 上記2つの機能により、画質を劣化させずに編集・ダビングを行
うことができます。
SDTI(HDCAM)信号出力に関する制約
SDTI(HDCAM)信号出力に関しては以下の制限があります。
• SD 互換テープの挿入時は、SDTI(HDCAM)信号は出力されま
せん。
• 映像は圧縮データのまま出力されるので、
ビデオゲインコントロー
ルなどの処理は SDTI(HDCAM)出力には反映されません。
• フリーズ画は SDTI(HDCAM) OUTPUT 端子からは出力されま
せん。
• HDSDI 入力をE-E モードで出力しているとき、SDTI(HDCAM)

SDTI(HDCAM)入力の選択、記録、
E-Eモードでの出力(レコーダーのみ)
下記以前のバージョンのマニュアルをお持ちの場合は、サービス担
当者にご相談ください。
SDTI(HDCAM)入力を選択するには、ファンクションメニューの
HDW-2000/M2000：1st Edition (Revised 3)
HDW-A2100/M2100：1st Edition (Revised 4)
HOME ページで F1(VID.IN)を「SDTI」に設定します。
このとき、オーディオ入力も自動的に SDTIが選択されます。オー
ディオ信号は、AES/EBU 信号と同様に録音レベルの調整、およ

Overview
The HKDW-102 SDTI (HDCAM) Interface Board is
an option board, which can be installed in the HDW2000/M2000/M2000P HD Digital Videocassette
Recorder (referred to simply as “recorder”) and HDWM2100/M2100P HD Digital Videocassette Player
(referred to simply as “player”).
Installing this board in the recorder/player enables the
following functions.
• Outputting the playback signal from a tape in
HDCAM format as SDTI (HDCAM) data without
decompression.
• Recording SDTI (HDCAM) signals input from
another device on the tape without decompression or
compression.
• Using the two previous functions, you can carry out
editing and dubbing without any loss in image
quality.
• The SDTI (HDCAM) signals are compliant with
SMPTE 305M. With this board installed, you can
connect the HDW-2000/M2000/M2000P/M2100/
M2100P to a nonlinear editor supporting this
standard.
Restrictions on SDTI (HDCAM) signal
output
The following restrictions apply to the output of SDTI
(HDCAM) signals.
• With an SD-compatible cassette loaded, no SDTI
(HDCAM) signals are output.
• Video data is output without decompressing, so
adjustments such as the video gain control are not
reflected in the SDTI (HDCAM) output.
• Freeze frames are not output from the SDTI
(HDCAM) OUTPUT connectors.
• When outputting an HDSDI input in E-E mode, no
SDTI (HDCAM) signals are output.
• It is not possible to output the test signal from the
player through the SDTI interface.
Note
If Setup menu items 018 “ACTIVE LINE SELECT”
and 918 “SLOW PROCESS MODE” are not at the
factory default settings (OFF), the recorder/player
timecode output and SDTI (HDCAM) output may not
be in frame alignment. When using the SDTI
(HDCAM) output as editing material, make sure that
the two above menu items are at their factory default
settings.

The following is additional material to be added to the
above manuals when this board is installed in the
recorder/player.
SDTI (HDCAM) Output
SDTI (HDCAM) signals are synchronized with the
reference signal selected on the recorder/player, and
are output from the SDTI (HDCAM) OUTPUT 1 and
2 connectors on the connector panel.

Outputting in E-E Mode of SDTI
(HDCAM) Signals (Recorder
Only)
To select the SDTI (HDCAM) input, in the Function
menu HOME page set F1 (VID.IN) to “SDTI.”
In this case, SDTI is also automatically selected for the
audio input. You can carry out recording level
adjustment, mixing, and other operations on the audio
signals in the same way as with AES/EBU signals.
Selecting SDTI (HDCAM) input causes the input
signals to be output in E-E mode from the SDTI
(HDCAM) OUTPUT connectors and decompressed
signals from the HDSDI OUTPUT connectors.
However, since HDCAM uses intraframe compression,
in cases such as the above, E-E video output through
HDSDI (as in Frame DT mode) is always in frame
images.
In function menu page 1, an “SDTI” setting has been
added to F1 (TCG).
In this menu, when you select SDTI, as the signal
source for the internal timecode generator, you can use
timecode data superimposed on the SDTI signal input
to the SDTI (HDCAM) INPUT connector.

Editing Using SDTI (HDCAM)
Signals (Recorder Only)
The following restrictions apply to editing using SDTI
(HDCAM) signals.
• For tape editing, the start and end field settings in
Setup menu item 304 “EDIT FIELD SELECT” are
ignored, and the start is always field 1 and the end
field 2.
• Preread editing is not possible.
• It is not possible to select other than SDTI for the
audio input.
